+366 It's messed up how long the span of Romeo and Juliet is. In five days they meet, get married, sleep with each other and die because of the other one, amirite?

I was just thinking about that the other day. Shakespeare really believed in love at first sight, but they shouldn't have been so hasty. If they weren't, nobody would have died. Nobody.

Mercutio and Tybalt probably would have died anyways.

If Romeo wasn't getting married he would have known of the challenge Tybalt gave him. Mercutio wouldn't have died if Romeo's head wasn't in the clouds when he and Tybalt met. Tybalt or Romeo could have died, it all depends if Romeo saw Juliet and got over his "Rosaline depression." there isn't enough info to saw who could have died, they both could not have died.

I'm actually writing an essay on the very topic! It's probably the most biased essay ever, because I just feel that Romeo and Juliet shouldn't have got married that strongly, but I don't care! xD

Time motif ^_^ shakespeare didn't believe in love at first sight. He was saying that teenagers often base love on looks and move too quickly.

Romeo and Juliet is one of the most discussed plays in the world. It can be either. I was taught Romeo and Juliet's love was based of the "true love at first sight" ideals of Shakespeare and that's the one I believe. Although when Romeo tells Friar Lawrence about his marriage plans, Friar Lawrence does say their love is based more upon lust and they are not "seeing" with their hearts. It can be either of those ideals, one isn't wrong.
