You shouldn't go immediately after it turns green; check to make sure no one's trying to beat their red light to avoid getting t-boned. Also, sorry for being the one guy to disagree. =/

You didn't really have to disagree with the post, seeing as how OP did not say "GO RIGHT AS THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, DONT HESITATE", **although he did say "quickly" so I don't know**. I agree with OP that it is the first person's responsibility to not sit there, looking in their glove compartment, or texting, or something. But I also don't floor it when it turns green, I look both ways at any type of intersection, green light or not.

Yea def give it a few seconds, just in case. There's too many assholes that like to run lights. Generally, once a light changes to red the next light doesn't go green for 3 seconds. But that still doesn't stop a dumb driver.

I am a girl actually lol but i do agree that you should look first before going. I just hate when drivers aren't paying attention and sit there longer than necessary, especially when other cars around them are moving.
