+289 Commercials probably equal the same amount of time that the show actually is.. why can`t they just play them all after the show is done... amirite?

Commercials only play for 18 minutes out of a 60 minute episode or 9 minutes for a 30 minute episode. They can't be played after the show is done, or else the advertisers will know that no one is watching them, and thus will not pay the networks. If you really dislike them, wait until your television shows are on DVD and watch them commercial-free.
