+284 When typing "guess what" you're never sure whether to put a question mark or an exclamation point, amirite?

Seeing as it isn't a question you would put an exclamation point

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly. I was just about to say that. :]

=)

i know, but when you say the word 'what' it makes it seem like it should be a question.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not really

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well it does to me.

When you say "guess what" you're pretty much saying "you guess what" you know what I mean? I can't explain it clearly because I suck... lol. But do you get it.?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You could be asking the person to guess what. Therefore making it "Guess what?" or "Will you guess what?" Get it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I do. It's just how you say it though...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's why I put 'guess what?!'

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was just about to say that!lol. You put both to cover all your bases and besides, it makes it sound way more exciting.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol it's not a question. But I'm sure you've already heard that. Also "Guess what!?" doesn't work either. Makes you sound like your shocked that somebody else said it lol. Just saiyan.

"guess what" is an imperative sentence, because its telling the person to guess, so that means it ends in a period or exclamation point.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I just put both...
