All the time. For instance, my cat would be lazily napping in the sun, and all the sudden she'll leap up, eyes widened, and just stare at nothing. When I wave my hand in front of her face, she ducks, still staring. I think cats and dogs have a sixth sense. Actually, they sort of do - doesn't have anything to do with this post, but they can sense earthquakes a few weeks before they happen. I live in California where earthquakes are common, and they would become extremely cautious and either meow or bark at everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) they see. They would also flinch when you try to pet them. Whenever they start doing this, I get a strong feeling an earthquake is coming. =] *ramble complete*

My dogs do that all the time. They have intense stare downs with the floor too, so I assume there's a bug or something I don't see.
