God doesn't make our world the way it is, we do. amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yup, and that's because he doesn't exist.
by Anonymous13 years ago
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why does everyone believe in "Him?"
by Anonymous13 years ago
maybe because we choose to have hope in something. If i believe in something bigger than myself, what do i lose? an hour each Sunday? do I become a horrible person?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Before all you atheists comment on how he "doesn't exist" read this
He gives hope like no other can, yet so many people want to get rid of just the thought of him, God has changed so many lives, whether he exists or not, he has given us something to hope for and to dream for. Why would you even want to consider getting rid of something like God and his hope from all these people?
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's not that people don't want to believe in God it's just that if you look at it from a scientific point of view there is no proof of God.
by Anonymous13 years ago
ok?
by Anonymous13 years ago
So you're saying we should get rid of all the hope God gives us because scientists say he doesn't exist?
by Anonymous13 years ago
No, I believe that there is a god too. I am saying that's why some people don't believe in God. I'm not trying to start a fight.
by Anonymous13 years ago
scientific proof?
you idiot. just read the Bible.
do you seriously think that we evolved from apes? psh.
by Anonymous13 years ago
(GOD is LOVE <3): You don't get good grades, do you? The Bible proves nothing, and we did, in fact, evolve from apes. There is scientific proof for that.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Thank you for helping me prove my point. Haha
by Anonymous13 years ago
actually, it is not certain that we did evolve from apes (missing links) that's why it's called the THEORY of evolution not the LAW of evolution.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Theories and laws are the same thing. Theories explain natural phenomena and laws describe them. So they're both on the same level. That being said, no scientist would ever say we evolved from apes, because we didn't. We share a common ancestor with apes.

I am not anti-religious per se but I believe the general argument would be that believing in something that is not true is a bad idea regardless of the circumstances. Religion can have positive effects, but that is not enough to put aside the importance of truth.
by Anonymous13 years ago
what do i lose from believing in something bigger than myself?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Nothing. I believe in elephants too.
by Anonymous13 years ago
obviously, you are incapable of having a mature debate without resorting to trampling on others beliefs. Do you think that it's ok for members of the westboro baptist church to say that "God hates fags" and make fun of other people's lifestyles? You are essentially doing the same thing.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I was only making fun of the fact that your reply was completely irrelevant to my comment. I was talking about how I don't think you should base your life on a lie no matter what, and then you reply with something that's hardly related in any way. And I still feel like I pretty much answered your question; you lose nothing from believing in something that's bigger than yourself per se, but if that "something" you believe in is god, than yes you will lose some things, one those things being your credibility.
by Anonymous13 years ago
you said that believing in a lie was a bad idea. My response was based off that portion. I asked, what negative effects do i gain from believing in a diety?
I'm sure that my credibility is not lost because i believe in God. I, unlike the stereotypical religious people, am able to form my own opinions, and make arguments without interjecting God into them at all (notice how i have not quoted the bible at you).
by Anonymous13 years ago
In life you will encounter situations that you will need to analyze. If your analysis is based on misinformation you will come to the wrong conclusion.
by Anonymous13 years ago
such as?
by Anonymous13 years ago
I actually really like that argument, even though I am agnostic. Thank you, an actual RATIONAL and not HATEFUL argument!! I'd disagree with you on one thing, however. I wouldn't say that I am trying to cause people to lose their faith. Maybe it's just me, but I'm fine with religious ideals, I think they add a lot to a persons life and teach really good morals.

AMEN!
by Anonymous13 years ago
I dont get my hope or dreams from a fictional creature, and neither should anybody else. If i went around saying the only reason im alive is because edward cullen gives me hope you'd think i was crazy but yet its offensive for the rest of us to call you out on your fictional hope from God? Everybody thinks scientology is wack, yea well scientology is the same thing as christianity, a book made by man that idiots gathered around it and try to rainwash every one they meet into believing it
by Anonymous13 years ago
Wait. Rorschach?! :D You're alive?!?! YES!
Seriously, did no one else think that? I know it's not word for word, but c'mon! It's close enough!
