You could never understand the point of the lid they put on mcflurry even now. amirite?
by Anonymous14 years ago
It's safety rule. If a cup has something in it when they give it to you, it needs a lid.
by Anonymous14 years ago
whats the safety in it? they dont put the lid for their sundaes.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Sundae qualifies as a food item, not a drink item. It's weird, but that's how it is. If the health dept. came through and saw you get a milkshake without a top, they'd take a point off of their score for improper procedure.

Yea but mcflurry's an ice cream not a drink.
-.-

Meh. The world is a confusing place. If it's blended in the cup, the lid could also help with keeping the splatter at bay.
by Anonymous14 years ago
maybe, but it doesnt splatter a lot, the cup looks pretty neat on the sides when i get the ice cream.. :P
by Anonymous14 years ago
Well I've never had a mcflurry but I used to work at dairy queen so I know that ice cream can splatter when blended... o_o and you can't get the smell of ice cream out of you with just one shower. I used to use axe body wash cuz I couldn't handle sweet smells anymore. I'm getting off topic.
by Anonymous14 years ago
oh ok..maybe it can. mcflurry's good. you should try it someday.. and the smell of ice cream's nicee. why do u wanna remove it? haha :P
by Anonymous14 years ago
It's nice at first but when you smell like sugar and milk for weeks on end, it gets nasty. :/
by Anonymous14 years ago
lol haha..ok thn :P
by Anonymous14 years ago
I still don't get the spoon. Is it supposed to look like a straw to confuse us? I still fall for it everytime though. :P
by Anonymous14 years ago
oh the spoon has a hollow at the top so that they could fix it on the machine and help to crush the oreos in it. i fell for it at first too until i saw the lady doing it.. :)

McFlurries get pretty messy for me, so the top makes me feel a bit cleaner (:
by Anonymous14 years ago
I work at mcdonalds.
and the little square thing at the top is for the mixer, you plug it into the mixer thing and boom!
instant mcflurry.
(:
by Anonymous14 years ago
should I worry that where I live they don't put lids on mcflurries?
by Anonymous14 years ago
if you work there, you'd understand why the lid needs to be there,
mixing it can create a mess. haha
by Anonymous14 years ago
I worked at mcdonalds too and you definitely need a lid, otherwise ice cream will splatter everywhere. it's probably more for the benefit of the employees than customers!
on more than one occasion the lid came off as I was blending the mcflurry and I got ice cream splattered all over my uniform.
mcflurries are a bitch to make, but cones are harder. :( mine were always pathetically lopsided. there's more of an art to ice cream cone-making!

When i ask for a chocolate dipped one it always looks like it's going to fall in and i'm like nooooo
by Anonymous14 years ago
Trust me, we employees think the EXACT same thing. And when they DO fall in, there's always a beautiful stream of swears following it.
