Book writers?

For normal books, the author usually gets around 10% of the profit. Let's say there are 20 authors to one textbook. I was actually trying to look up that information, but I can't find out how many there usually are, so 20 will be our guess. If the average cost of a book is $150, a writer is getting $.75 per purchase. That's not a lot.
