+617 You hate when you have Muggle parents and don't know what's going on during the summer, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've got that problem too. My silly muggle family. I didn't even know about this years Quidditch World Cup until recently.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, then of course after that Seamus, Harry, and Ron had to go and brag about going back then.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Silly Pure/Half-Bloods. I'm glad I'm a Ravenclaw. My best friends are books.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

At least Hermione Granger is in my house. She can sympathize with me. But her family still goes on amazing Muggle trips. My boring Muggle family is really...Muggle-ish.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My Muggle mum is so dreary. Do they siriusly have to rely on technology so much? I wish I lived in some spiffy Wizard house like the Burrow.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The Burrow would be amazing. And if we didn't need a dishwasher! Oh, the possibilities.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And having people apparating all around you. I mean siriusly, what's with these silly Muggle neighborhoods? No fireworks unless it's a holiday? What am I suppose to do with all my Filibusters then?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly! I was so glad when I came of age. Now it's just a simple "Scourgify!" and the dishes are clean. My parents made me live in a Muggle neighborhood though, so I have to be careful.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*Sigh* I'm only a fourth year at the moment. Won't be on my own for another three. But only two until I can apparate. It'll be fun apparating from one side of my room to another.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, learning to Apparate was always fun. Just don't be the 1 person who fails because he left his eyebrows behind. And don't splinch yourself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'll try my hardest. Then I'll be a boss at Hide-and-seek >:-) those Muggle kids will never find me! I'll be the new Waldo!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Before I turned 11, when my magic was still out of my control, I'd 'accidentally' do that with the Muggle kids in my neighborhood. SO much fun.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I bet so. I never had a problem with my magic. Silly Muggle parents kept me calm. But now I regret never knowing what magical abilities I was capable of while I still had my inner-child in me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How did your parents react when they found out you were magic? Mine were completely surprised...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They were baffled. Didn't even know what to say. Took them hours to find Diagon Alley. Much less find out how to let the school know I would be coming that year.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah..mine thought I was crazy at first. Took me to a physciatrist. In the end they figured out owls and everything though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Silly Muggles. Psychiatrists are so over-rated. They're just wannabe Legilimens.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know! But then again, a Legilimen couldn't exactly explain to Muggles how they know what's going on.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I guess so. And what would happen if their patient was an Occlumens? That would be pretty confunding.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. But I think Occlumency can be optional to use. SO you could let them know what's going on.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True. That would be kind of cool. Is that how they do therapy in the Wizarding world?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think there is therapy in the Wizarding world. The only reason people go crazy is as a result of the Cruciatus Curce, like the Longbottoms.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmm, it appears so. Darn, I need more wizard experience. I can't stay with these Muggles for much longer! *Bangs head on keyboard* Angst! Angst! Angst!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I got frustrated too. Don't worry, by the time you're a 7th year, you'll know EVERYTHING. At least you didn't have to deal with Harry's Muggle relatives. He was always complaining.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know. Poor Harry, but all his complaining must have been irritating. And I cannot wait for my 7th year. I hope to become a Magizoologist. I've always been interested in the more magical animals. They're so fascinating compared to these animals the Muggles marvel at.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Is Hagrid still Care of Magical Creatures teacher? I always liked him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes he is. He's gotten a lot better. Stopped using really dangerous creatures. I heard the Blast-ended Skrewts were horrible. I like him too. Not many Ravenclaws do, but I think he's fascinating, and a great friend.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's good. He hasn't resorted to flobberworms again, though, has he?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We did a brief study on them in our third year, but only for a week. They were rather boring. He's brought us to the Thestrals, I'm still curious about them since I can't see them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're lucky you can't. Of course, back in the days of You-Know-Who, almost everyone could.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Good thing he's gone now. I've heard those times were awful. I was only a few years old when the second wizarding war started, so I have no memory of it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I had to run. They were after muggle-borns. It was horrible. It turns out we ran into Harry Potter while he was trying to defeat Voldemort without realizing it. We could have joined him, but he was so well hidden.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That must have been frightening. Glad I wasn't there. How was Voldemort? Bet he was pretty ugly looking.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha he was. But it was so much worse than his looks. A lot of people were killed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Terrible. If I had been there, I'd be hopeless. Defense Against the Dark Arts has never been my thing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really it's not about how good you are in the class. If you know a couple good ones then you're good. But yeah, it was a really dark time. Who's headmaster at Hogwarts now? It's a shame Dumbledore had to die during all that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I heard Dumbledore was great. We've still got McGonagall. She's brilliant, but I've always wanted to spent a day with Albus Dumbledore.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm glad someone like Slughorn didn't take over. Ugh. McGonagall was really good.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

She's strict, but a great Headmaster. Slytherin can hardly get away with pulling pranks now. They've calmed down a lot. I heard the Weasleys were always fun to have around.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh yes. Is George still running his joke shop?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, yes he is. I've had the honor of meeting him once. He seems very friendly, and mischievious. Wish I was around during his time at Hogwarts.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You should have seen when there was a giant swamp in one the the corridors. It was hilarious. I love how we've got so many comments of role-playing :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I bet so. I heard they once set off a huge set of fireworks all around the school. Must have been bloody awesome! Haha, we've practically turned this post into a forum.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It was awesome. My 5th year...This awful lady, Umbridge, was "High Inquisitor" from the ministry. Even the other teachers somewhat approved it. And I know, it's pretty hilarious XD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Eww. "High Inquisitor"? Sounds disgusting. I heard she was chased out by a wild band of Centaurs. And that she went all loony afterward and took weeks to recover.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That she was. I loved Firenze(one of the centaurs) for that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe Firenze is still at the school. I dropped out of Divination. I'm in a few extra classes, and couldn't keep up with Divination. He was a great teacher though. And the classroom was lovely.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. He was better than Trewlany(not sure how to spell it). How are you taking extra classes though? Have you got a time-turner like Hermione?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just a few extra electives. Arithmancy and Study of Ancient Runes, so my schedule isn't too chaotic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's good. Hermione went crazy her third year with classes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I heard she just walked right out of Divination one day. Can't blame her. That class is bloody hell.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, it was pretty ridiculous. And the warmth was just...UGH. It's a completely pointless class.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know! And I don't think many mudblood wizards/witches are going to have seers in their ancestry. I ditched the class after three weeks of it last year. As if I didn't already have enough Angst!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know! It's horrible. And really, she was like "You won't be able to do anything at all here unless you posess the Inner Eye, but try anyway."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's like saying "Okay, you may be blind, so you can't ever drive a car. But just steer the wheel a bit and maybe you'll make it to work on time" :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know right? She's loony. Worse than Lovegood.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Glad Trelawney got booted off of the job years ago then. I heard she created an entire scene though. Poor thing must have been so ashamed. But Firenze is at least decently sane.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. And he doesn't claim to have the Inner Eye.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha "inner eye". I heard Trelawny predicted someones death in nearly every class period :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In my classes it was always Harry. But yeah, she chose someone every class. She was insane.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Firenze never did that. He usually talked about the stars and lost prophecies and all that other rubbish.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. That stuff's not as much ribbish as Trelawny's stuff. The centaurs actually know a lot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I heard the sent Firenze on a wild-goose chase. Poor guy. But hey at least they also sent that bloody woman everyone told me about named Umbridge.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah haha. She was horrible. Almost banned Quidditch, of all things. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's Blasphemy! Ban Quidditch? It's what keeps us studiers sane during the year! Is that woman still alive? I'd like to send her a portable swamp and a few Weasleys' Wild-fire Whiz-Bangs!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You should have seen our 5th year. Fred and George Weasley set off a bunch, then quit school. It was amazing. And the centaurs drove her mad. So she's probably alive, but not very sane. Yeah, and it was just Gryffindor too....she didn't like Harry Potter at all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Now that must have been EPIC! Ha, now I know why some kids in my year say "I might just pull a Weasley and get out of here" when exam time comes around. I'll definitely be sending my owl, Diggory, off to send her a package >:-)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha good idea. You named your owl Diggory? That's sweet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, in honor of Cedric Diggory. All of my Hufflepuff friends talk about him nonstop. He's a decent sized Light-grey owl. In a certain light he resembles Hedwig (R.I.P.)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah Cedrc was pretty popular. Hedwig was such a pretty owl. Really smart too, from the way she always found Harry.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I heard she was a lot like that. Must have been really well-liked in the school. Snowy-Owls are so brilliant. Harry must have been devastated when losing her. From what I've read, The Second Wizarding War was brutal for everyone.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It really was. It was horrible.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've read about it in tons of books. You guys did a great job fighting off Voldemort.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I didn't have much to do with it until I was back at Hogwarts for the final fight. But yeah, it was pretty epic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well still it must be pretty cool knowing that you helped fight him off.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, it kinda is. Haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ha, I was only three years old at the time of the Second Wizarding War, I doubt my Muggle Parents even knew what was going on.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I told my Muggle parents. It was better for them to know, just in case. It was a scary time...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can imagine... By the way, I'm about to actually go read Deathly Hallows for my first time... I'm terrified...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You haven't read it?!? Dude, you need to!! It's AMAZING.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I finished it at midnight last night, having started at midnight the morning of that day. Took me a while to read it, but now I kind of hate myself for ever even picking it up. Even if I could never read it, at least I would always know that there was still another book waiting. But man, was the second wizarding war terrifying! Oh and I realized, WWI could stand for Wizarding War 1 and WWII be Wizarding War 2!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha yeah it could! And I know, I hate that there's no more to read. It'll be worse when the movie comes out...it's like it all ends! Which was your favorite book?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmmm, It's a tie between Deathly Hallows and Goblet of Fire. Yours?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I can't decide. It's between Goblet of Fire, Half-Blood-Prince, and Deathly Hallows. I love most of them :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Me too. I love Deathly Hallows because it's so different from the other six novels. It took me a while to realize that I was even reading a Harry Potter book during Deathly Hallows. I probably love Goblet of Fire because of Dobby (R.I.P. Dobby, A free Elf)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know, Deathly Hallows was amazing. I was so used the Hogwarts setting, then they leave and are moving everywhere. I loved Goblet of Fire because of Dobby, and the mystery kinda part of it was really cool. And I think J.K.R really developed Hermione in that one. I like Half-Blood-Prince too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. I love all the books really. Along with their side-journeys at Hogwarts and all of the mystery and mayhem. Did you hear that they showed DH pt.1 at a theater a few days ago in Chicago? I heard it was amazing! Even though some of the special effects weren't complete, so you could see a green screen sometimes. Even non-Harry Potter fans enjoyed it! And I warn you, I heard Dobby's death is quite the tear-jerker ;-(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, lucky Chicago people! And I know, it even was in the book. I hope they include him digging the grave. And I will kill someone if they don't include "NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Bellatrix should have learned not to mess with Mama Weasley! I think that will be one of the most memorable parts of the movie... And I think they do include the grave-digging part, I saw still pictures of the movie, and it showed Harry with a shovel digging.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Good. That part was really emotional. I hope they don't leave out too much like the other movies. They shouldn't, considering they're splitting it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know. That means they at least have two and a half hours to it, so they should be able to fit in all the nooks and crannies. Maybe even add in a few little extra things.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hay guise

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You guys know this isn't a chat forum right?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. But I didn't really expect this to get homepaged :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When i saw all the comments i thought it was fight!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

96 commments of pure nerdness! Gotta love the nerds:)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

nerds are the best and i am proud to be one!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Awesome! Then could you kindly explain to me what they're all talking about up there? :p

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i haven't read all of it just too many comments its just a bunch of hp references made into a conversation. which is very amusing to read if you get the references.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@483460 (ginnyweasley_3): Thank you :P. Hahaha we had a huge conversation on here :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i can tell i read some and was very amused by it! i love long conversations where the only ones who understand are those who get the quotes and references. it makes some people so confused its funny

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hahaha I know. I've read the books so much I'd probably fit in right away there, if it were real :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

same here! i wish it were real. i already know what house i'd be in (hufflepuff n matter how much i'd love to be a gryffindor)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. I'd like to think I'd be put in Gryffindor, but I'd probably just end up in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i know i would love to be in Gryffindor but i'm not all that brave. but i am fairly smart and kind so Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw would be more suited.it really sucks though

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. I haven't really been tested with magical mayhem so I don't really know if I'm brave or not. haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha true xD but i doubt i would be. but hey if longbottom can be brave im sure we all can!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Definitely! Haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i love how he mans up in the last book!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know! It's awesome haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i love how molly just kicks ass. its awesome!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i know! i love it! i cried when fred died though, it was so sad! also i cried when both tonks and lupin died. i cried a lot in that book.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah. I cried when Dobby died too. And Dumbledore and Sirius of course. That was an amazing book though

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it was an amazing book. you know it was an amazing book because it made me cry, laugh and smile.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah I know

by Anonymous 13 years ago

most definitely! they're all great books!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yup haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I read the whole thing. Haha :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Same.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Whoa this got homepaged?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know! I'm like....crap, we had a conversation on here xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Heh heh. Love the nerds, I read the whole thing :D

by Anonymous 13 years ago
