Well, if they can afford first-class, there's probably a reason behind it; most of them are business men/women with busy schedules.

I agree, but I think he/she is also saying that they never seem to get unlucky with connecting flights running late or anything like that

Well, they probably ride first-class on every flight so they get out ~20 minutes earlier than the people on the back of the plane. Also, you don't know who's riding first-class until after they call them up...so they could've rushed to the gate minutes before, but you weren't really paying attention.

Well if they can afford first class then they probably can afford a ticket with no connections
