What's weird about snow is that when you shovel the snow, dig through it, the snow is pure white; but when it melts, you can see all these dirt laying on top of the snow, amirite?

Water crystallizes into snow on particles of dust and dirt... Not sure if that's enough to leave all the crud on top after it melts, but it might contribute.
