I feel there is always that fine line between self-confidence and being conceited.
self-confidence: "Wow, I look great today."
conceited: "No one can ever look as amazing as me."

I'd rather have someone be really conceited than have someone be really self conscious.

Those two things aren't close enough for this to make sense... Arrogance might have worked better instead of conceited.
