by Anonymous 13 years ago

God isn't real, just sayin.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Show me proof to support your opinion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They shouldn't have to demand proof to support an opinion - religion is a choice.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you don't know that, and you can't proove that. you can believe it, but you have no evidence. So it's kind of like closing your eyes when someone's standing in front of you and saying they're not there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Someone standing in front of me would be able to do something that's not visual to let me know they're there, like touching or speaking. If God is real, he should talk to me and let me know. If he 's real, he knows I've been here fore 20 years now and I've yet to hear so much as a "Welcome to Earth!" from the bastard. Not the kind of guy I want to believe in.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God is trying to talk to you, you're just not listening

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How would you know if He talks to you? You don't believe in Him, so why would you even BELIEVE he is talking to you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

NW'd it because God isn't real. And because you do not freaking understand how to use punctuation or spell "ew." But I would feel bad if my friend did that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

so how exactly is God not real. Whats your view on how this world became the way it is now?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

or are you simply going to say God doesnt exist but for no reason?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Better yet, where's the proof that God does exist? I didn't post the first comment, but really now...The proof of evolution is undeniable. It's not a "theory" anymore. If humans evolved from something else, then God did not directly create them. If you're going to say that God created initial life or the first cell from which all other life sprung, fine; there's no solid proof for how the first sets of RNA were created, but for all intensive purposes, God did not create humans in the image they are today--IF he/she/it exists.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

okay im sorry, but i found this a tad amusing, from the beginning "the proof of evolution is undeniable" Let me walk you through some numbers real quick. In the beginning there was nothing right.. well, how exactly did nothing become an amino acid... and then how did a bunch of these amino acids line up IN THE CORRECT ORDER without intelligent help to become a protein. And then that protein combined with a few other proteins to create the first single celled organism... Sound ridiculous yet? wait.. it gets better. :) For the correct amino acids to line up in the correct order by chance is actually equivalent to a BLIND man finding a single marked sand granule in the Sahara Desert.... 3 times in a row!!! Now, thats just the beginning of the evolutionary theory... but in reality you are missing a whole boatload of evidence that you claim makes evolution not a "theory" anymore. your thoughts?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It wasnt a specific order though! Everything in evolution happened by accident. So shut up until you actually learn the facts. And evolution is WAYYYYYYYYY more probable than thinking there is some all knowing THING in the sky. God was created by people who were too scared to figure out how everything actually happened and to have something to blame all their problems on.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well hold on now, all you are saying is that i am wrong, but you arent actually explaining why. And like you said, everything "happened by accident" in the evolutionary theory. How can something as finely tuned as our universe be an accident? Do you realize that if gravity was off by .0000000000000000000000000000000000000001 the universe would cease to exist. If the sun was a foot closer to the earth/farther from the earth, it would be too hot/cold for life. Everything is soooo precise, that frankly, i dont see how that could all happen accidently. And if God was created by people, why on earth would we create someone who we would have to be accountable to. Why would someone want to make that up? If the idea of God ceased to exist, okay, God was 100% not realistic, then the world would be thrown into chaos. People would steal, murder, rape, and suicides would go up considerably! because there is no one to be ultamitely accountable to.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ok I am highly aware of that fact. And because of all of the accidents during the evolution process and the creation of the whole solar system we are able to exist! Can you understand something as simple as that? Everything only seems so precise because that is just the way it has always been for us. If one small thing went differently EVERYTHING would be different and we'd have a different conception of what really is "precise". And yes people created God because they thought it would prevent those kinds of things. But what a surprise that it didnt work!! And all those chaotic things you listed are already happening! I have no clue where the hell youve been.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ill accept the first paragraph for now. The evolutionary process could make sense.. all it needs is a beginning. and proof. Saying that God is the beginning of evolution is pretty ridiculous. So imma throw that one out right now because saying God started evolution is like saying Budha started Judiasm. So once the theory comes up with a beginning, and a legit fossil record. Then come talk to me

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I understand how its hard to believe cuz of that first small part missing....but I just dont understand how you could believe in something with absolutely no proof of existance.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But the thing is.. you have little to no proof yourself, so hold up. Right now, evolution is almost at the exact same place it was when darwin came up with it. They still dont have proof, but they have something that "could" work. However, i would like to say something... If we simply evolved, how did we get our sense of right and wrong. Morality? Ethics? How did we evolve with the idea that killing people is wrong?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So a rationally deliberated theory, which has been borne out in studies on current species, has "little to no proof" that it was the basis for all life, and going off of that assertion, you're willing to believe in something that has EVEN LESS PROOF? LOL, religion! amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"If the idea of God ceased to exist, okay, God was 100% not realistic, then the world would be thrown into chaos. People would steal, murder, rape, and suicides would go up considerably! because there is no one to be ultamitely accountable to." This is one thing I HAVE to disagree with. I actually think the opposite would happen. If you've read the Bible, it's FILLED with things you called sin. It's filled with rape and murder and all sorts of horrible things which your god then excuses. RELIGION was the excuse for the Spanish Inquisition. People used religion to say that Haiti "had it coming". People use religion as a way to find a sense of righteousness which allows them to commit horrible acts of violence and hatred and still have a good conscience-because "God" will forgive them, or the person they hurt was a non-believer and deserved what they got. I'm not saying all religious people are horrible people, but it's definitely not the savior you see.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Believe it or not, i completely understand where you are coming from. The history of religion is not pretty, and it makes me want to cry to think of all the things that went wrong. But you have to understand, people thought they were doing the right thing. They werent! but they thought they were... mis interpretation of Scripture. Not to mention the inquistion was built off of political power. Religion and Political power went hand in hand and so they thought that the smart thing to do would be to get rid of the non christians to retain power. Terrible.. it really is. And this is not what true christianity is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I really get that. I'm not saying that the religion itself is flawed...just organized religion. When you have entire countries or states that are all primarily one religion, people stop thinking for themselves. People are horribly flawed, and so religion gets used as an excuse for all sorts of violence and hatred, even today. Inevitably, religion finds its way into politics, so as long as people in mass numbers are basing their moral center off of a single religious structure...well it's a recipe for disaster. I'd rather see people REALLY think about their religion, question EVERYTHING, and then come to their own conclusions. And there is no "true Christianity". There's only your Christianity...and then there's the religion which your religious leaders preach to you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That would be helpful. ABout a year ago i went through that stage, i forgot everything and actually investigated. Evolution is widely accepted even the thought the theory is seriously flawed. But the idea of God on the other hand, it just makes sense. I found that scientists actually tried to cover the flaws of evolution.. They start with the conclusion. "evolution is true, God is not" and then try to prove it true rather than actually gathering the information and evidence, and then coming to a conclusion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Think about what you're saying, man! Earlier you said we have religion to thank for teaching us morals, teaching us right from wrong! Now you're saying that people who supposedly believed these religions did the wrong thing "because they thought they were doing the right thing"? How could they possibly think that with God right there to hold their hand and provide guidance? Maybe God had nothing to do with humans developing morals and ethics, maybe people had no idea what mental disorders were 4000 years ago and people thought some whackjob, who was actually schizophrenic, preaching about "The One True God" was really a prophet? Explain to me why, until roughly 4000 years ago, all human societies functioned under the religious pretext of animism or polytheism? Why did God wait until 4000 years ago to start telling people he was there? Is he just a lazy procrastinator?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

if you're going to claim that evolution is legit, you should learn all the theories of how we came to be before deciding what you believe. God exists, but evolution could be true to, whose to say that God didn't make sure that amino acids lined up properly to create us?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's totally plausible. Now find some evidence, or I'll continue to laugh at you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Find some evidence that God didn't start evolution, otherwise I'll continue to feel sorry for you. There's no proof that he did, and there's no proof that he didn't. This is just one of those things that no one can prove.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Right, so it's incredibly silly to say "God exists." That's a factual statement that needs to be proved. The most anyone can say is, "I believe God exists." Personally, I'd like to see some proof before I acknowledge his existence.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

First of all, sorry about butting in on your argument. Second of all, evolution probably didn't happen like that. You keep talking about "the correct order", but it's not like they were TRYING to make "the correct order". It's more like they just happened to line up in a way that happened to cause life. And if they had been lining up in random ways for thousands of years SOMETHING was bound to happen.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly. finally someone smart....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

mmk About 100 amino acids have to be put together to make one protein molecule. Okay.. Now, the amino acids also have to have the right bond, peptide bonds, When it comes to amino acids, there are 80 different types, but only 20 of them work with living organisms.. this means if you have the entire sequence correct and then one of the 60 non living amino acids joined to it, the whole thing would fall apart. Now, amino acids are also "right and left handed" so to speak. Only the left handed one work in living organisms. So.. you need to get approx 100 amino acids together, if one wrong one joins the sequence, start from the beginning.. Remember 100 amino acids makes a protein. Now you need approx 200 of those proteins to create a single living cell! Now that seems like a stretch but i forgot to ask, How did the amino acids become? the universe jut had amino acids? What created them?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think my other comment answers the first part of your comment. Well there are some things nothing can explain in this world, such as what was before the universe, and I won't pretend to be able to answer that for you. I suppose some people answer that with a god, but personally I have some other ideas that are too many to list but sound about as probable as some perfect being in the sky just deciding to create everything.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay, well then answer this. Babies in africa, starving, they are dying by the minute. Do you think this is a good thing? No, of course not! but wait.. isnt it just survival of the fittest, that all the weak cretures will eventually die out.. and we will be left with an evolved species? No... We see the death of african babies as a bad thing. How come? Where did this sense of morality and ethics come from? Did we evolve with it? Because, the term evolution means, to change to survive... the babies didnt adapt to having no food, therefore they are now dying. Simple evolution. NO. We see this as a right and wrong situation. Therefore the idea of evolution is not inside of us. We have morals, ethics, and those things can not evolve from amino acids.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

African babies aren't a separate species. We feel compassion for them because they're human and we want our species to survive. Morals and ethics actually do evolve from amino acids because if I remember correctly there is a part of the brain for our conscience. It's true that there are some things about humans that are beyond evolving from amino acids but that was not a good example of it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We don't feel compassion for African babies simply because they're starving, we feel compassion for African babies because they've been born into a continent which was, for the most part, raped by the rest of the world, especially colonial Europe and countries along the India Ocean, for several hundred years, leaving it with a ton of problems, one of which being those horrendously skinny babies. At least, that's why smart people feel compassion for them. You keep implying that "God did it!" makes more sense, but no matter how much you cry "Evolution has no evidence!" the fact of the matter remains: Neither do you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ran out of space, continuing: "the babies didnt adapt to having no food, therefore they are now dying. Simple evolution. NO. We see this as a right and wrong situation. Therefore the idea of evolution is not inside of us. " Seriously this is the worst logic ever. Let me paraphrase so that you see why: Let's start off with the assumption that pigs smell disgusting. How come? Pigs smell bad because they did not evolve sweat glands, thus being forced to roll in mud in order to keep cool. A simple matter of evolution, no? WRONG. We see it as a matter of smelling disgusting or not. Therefore the idea of evolution is not inside of us. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I have to agree with you 100%! Everything is in its order for a purpose and everything is right because God made it that way. If you don't believe in God, that's your problem and you're going to Hell. Evolution has little or no proof. If you believe in evolution you are clinging to the idea that we came from Michochondria and we weren't created be God. I pity you so much! If you could see God's true divinity and love there would be no problems. TheShamWowGuy, thanks for sticking to your guns.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@469832 (HolyFudge): Don't say they're going to Hell. You can't speak for Allah like that!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hey, I just want to point out that I'm not arguing about the beginning of existence. If you believe that God created the first organism or even the first proteins or whatever, fine. I'm cool with that. But how do you explain the countless fossils of simpler organisms? How do you explain dog breeding? Or maybe just domestic animals in general? Actually, think about viruses and bacteria for a second. How is it that every year--or even less--there's a new flu virus? Is God just sitting up there and giving people colds just for the Hell of it? Because if nothing evolves, he'd have to be responsible for creating thousands (or more) of new species every year, many of which will be directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of his "chosen creatures". How do you explain that? http://www.college.ucla.edu/webproject/micro12/m12webnotes/viralevolution.htm Also watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1fGkFuHIu0

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are getting two types of evolution confused. Micro and Macro. Micro evolution are things a species will grow though, minor changes, to keep the species alive. (Viruses) Macro evolution on the other hand, says that a single celled organism evolved into what we know as the universe today. Now quick though, if God created the single celled organism, then whether or not the rest of evolution makes sense.. doesnt matter. That just means that God does exist, and created the world by evolution. Nothing else matters. BUT evolution is actually missing several key fossils to prove its theory..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Which fossils exactly are these? There's an episode from the new season of Futurama that I think you need to watch... Also, yes, if God created the first single-celled organism, you win, God exists. PROVE IT.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You shouldn't have to prove it! It's called faith for a reason. You shouldn't have to see him to believe in him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Your basing evidence from your agrument from a Futurama episode? Your are one sad fellow; maybe you should start believeing in God? After all, he did create you ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Here is a link to Richard Dawkins' book "The God Delusion". http://www.esnips.com/doc/d31dd760-c3f0-4318-8dd2-d00fb91799eb/Richard.Dawkins.-.The.God.Delusion.(2006) Please scroll to and read pages 134 (bottom)-151. It should answer your questions.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That frustrates me. Let me sum up what he said, God is the answer you give when you dont have a clue. ^For a second lets pretend thats true. So whats the alternative, ahhh a theory, an thought, a mere "Hey, this could work" Thats great, it could work... But why cant you prove to me that it does indeed work. Oh, not enough proof.. i gotcha. So dawkins just bashed God for having no proof when he himself has not enough proof to make evolution more than a theory..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I hope you realize that theories are formed from multiple hypothesis which have not yet been proved wrong. Until a theory is DISPROVED, it is VALID. But keep in mind that hypothesis are formed from observation and evidence. What he said has evidence. And also, in the section which you just read, Dawkins actually only states that God is an alternative explanation, but not a good one in that it leads to an infinite regress.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He didn't say anything about him not having any proof. Well, at least not in this section. If you wan't to read the section in which he does explain the greater improbability of God's existence, you should read the section titled "Why there almost certainly is no God". Better yet, just read the whole book. Taking things out of context and without the previous information is never any good.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

YOU'RE DOING THE SAME THING

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also, the burden of proof rests with the one making the positive claim, so anyone who claims that God does exist needs to do the proving. And what's with all this personification of God anyway? You're going to hurt his feelings if you call yourself ugly? Does God not understand the nuances of human emotion and self-esteem? Seems like a pretty flawed God to me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You need to understand something, we are all different. Okay, thats the first thing. We have different strengths and weaknesses. Now imagine someone who is rich, beautiful, and famous. This person would be so absorbed in him/herself, that he/she wouldnt need God. If you have everything physical, you dont feel like you need anything spiritual. So maybe God not making you perfect is his way to draw you closer to him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I want to up this a billion billion times.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*Flying Spaghetti Monster*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's the same thing for your parents.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Your God gave you your mind, he chose for you to think that you were ugly.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God doesn't control you... he didnt make you think like that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@444650 (Garrettruskamp): Maybe god made you ugly. Not everybody's beautiful you know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

completely and truly wrong. everyone has, even if its just a little bit, of beauty inside (or outside) of them. just because someone is overweight or doesn't have what you think is a pretty face, doesn't mean that they're not beautiful. you're probably just saying that because you have low self esteem.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, I assure you I have a pretty high self esteem. I'm just saying everybody has, even if it's just a little bit, of ugly inside, too. If Allah were to make all beautiful, what would life be? There are some, I assure you, who are evil. Take Osama bin Laden for example. He signed his children up as suicide bombers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If he controlled us, then he would have us all follow him. But he doesnt, he wants to know if we actually love him. So he gave us the choice between him and whatever alternative there is out there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@444667 (TheShamWowGuy): But he created you, therefore he created your mind, therefore he created a mind which would find your body unattractive.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are partially correct. But you see, in the beginning, we had no need to care for apperance. We were butt naked but didnt care. Appearance simply didnt matter. And then when sin entered the world, adam and eve realized they were naked. So while God created your mind, he certainly did not make it to think some of the things it does. But when sin entered the world, appearance became an issue that people became concerned with. And actually, most of the people who are self conscious would not be that way if it wasnt for tv ads, magezines, etc.. Our world has created this idea of perfection that we simply cannot live up to. So to call yourself ugly because you are not perfect is not only illogical, but a slap in God's face.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It amazes me how people think all those stories in the bible are true.....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You do realize that the Bible was not written by one person. It was written by 40 authors (with the help of God)... in 3 different languages... on 3 different continents. And yet, the bible flows together. People say that the Bible contradicts itself a lot. But the truth is, you can take a statement out of context and it sounds contradictory when its really not. Or someone could misinterpret a scripture. Honestly, for that many different people to write things, and then one book comes together with no contradictions in it about God. Thats crazy!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You think that a book that was written by 40 people in 3 different languages on 3 different goddamn continents is the literal word of God? If he does exist, you REALLY need his help.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it amazes me how many people just choose to ignore God in any form. Statistics show that religious people are happier than atheists.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It is because theyre brainwashed to believe in it and thinking that it makes them happier. Those 'happy' religious, jesus loving people scare the shit out of me

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, what makes you happy? You don't sound happy...religious people can (usually) discuss religion in a calm, clear way. Atheists just blow up in your face. Why are you guys so touchy about something that supposedly doesn't exist? If someone told you they were going to catch a unicorn, you wouldn't get so mad because you know unicorns don't exist. But you get so mad whenever someone brings up God. It's because you don't fully believe that he doesn't exist. You think you do, but there's no proof to support that, so you really are just trying to cover up your insecurities by getting angry at people. Also, religious people are more full of hope because we believe we have a purpose in life. you don't. you just think you're here to live your life however you want and then just die, there's nothing more for you. that's depressing

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That was an awesome way to put it!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm truly more happy than you will honestly ever be. I can live my life without trying to please a nonexistant thing in the sky. And unicorns are better than "God". And there is no purpose to life, I don't live my life with any purpose! You religious people are living your life for the future--which you believe is heaven or hell--but since we're here and we actually have a life why can't we just live it freely huh? Thats what I'm doing, and that's what true happiness is. If you want to continue believing that you're truly happy then go ahead, waste your life. I don't care. It's depressing to think that life is being wasted like that. And also, you think we aren't as happy as you because we KNOW what life really is. And that is nothing! That makes some people feel depressed because everyone has given so much pointless meaning to it and then all of a sudden you realize that it was all wrong. I'm happier knowing the truth than I ever will be believing in a lie.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Did you ever stop to think that religious people are happier because they have a "quick fix" for all the things they don't understand, while atheists go around trying to understand things, finding answers that end up being... depressing? Life is depressing, go ahead and believe in the magical guy that made everything if you want to, I'd rather be informed and depressed than ignorant and happy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not like religious people turn a blind eye and pretend everythings ok. We just believe that there's more to what we see. Its so arrogant that just because you can't see, feel, or proove anything means it doesn't exist for you. Who decided to make you the judge of what is and what isn't real? Love is real, though you can't actually see it, you can see the product of it. Same with God, we can't see him, but we can see the product of his work. Us, the world, everything. Also, just because I believe in God doesn't mean I don't believe in evolution, or anything science related.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Science often conflicts with what God's book preaches though, believing in both is rather hypocritical and I always find it funny when Christians say they believe both. I don't think it's arrogant at all to believe that because God can't be proved, he doesn't exist. Proof is an important factor in validation of things. Blind faith is either disguised or willful ignorance.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its not hyprocritical. God created the universe, as well as the organisms which evolved into human beings. I'm catholic, and i believe fully in God, but i also know that science is correct a lot of the times. God is our initial creator, our spiritual encourager and helper. Now, this is just what i believe.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But, if God created everything, surely he created the way we think, sin or otherwise, which he must have created, it was your God that made the way in which your mind thinks, and if he is as perfect as I hear, he would have known full well that it would ultimately result in your disliking your own appearance, no matter what influenced your views on yourself, it was your God that created those things, so, assuming that your God is real, either: -He intended for some people to hate their own appearance. or: -He was unaware of what would happen if we were allowed to our own devices. Which means that either God made mistakes in creating us, or God intended us to be as we are. So it really depends how you perceive God as to whether he would get offended. But if he didn't intend us to be like we are, I'm sure of all the things he dislikes about us, our opinion of ourselves comes pretty low.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

From the beginning... God created us, and made everything awesome to top it off. But he gave us a choice. He gave us a choice, He gave us a choice. And one of his angels decided he didnt want to follow God, he wanted to be God, he wanted to be worshipped. So he fell from heaven into the earth, where he tempted adam and eve to follow him instead of God. Think about it, satan cannot fight God directly, he simply doesnt have the power. So he tries to drag his creation to hell, just to piss God off. Once adam and eve fell for it, sin entered the world. They made their choice.. Satan realized that he succeeded and his goal now is to make us, everything God doesnt want. He is the one who tells us we arent beautiful.. When in reality, appearance had no meaning in the beginning...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I didn't read that, like I haven't read the bible, but like, I'm thinking you probably have, and I'm willing to admit that I was probably wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha. well, not to go all religious on you but you should try it sometime. If nothing else, the Bible has some good stories.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've actually considered reading it, I don't feel like I've made an informed decision to be atheist without checking out all the options :(.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah.. well i mean, about a year ago i forgot everything i knew and started from scratch.. this is what i came up with. is it perfect, no, do i know everything about God. no. But i also know the alternative simply doesnt have the proof it needs. I dont know man, just think about it, this is a very serious topic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No one knows anything about theism for sure, people just think they do, which has caused a lot of people to die, that makes me sad, but I'm open minded enough to let anyone believe whatever they want, if it's what they need to get them through life.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If God is all-powerful, why does he let Satan troll him like that? Consolidate your points please, you make my head hurt. Religious people can be so dumb at times.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Your point is stupid. God gave everyone a choice, and satan, one of his angels, wanted to be God himself. In an effort to become God, satan fell to Earth and tempted Adam and Eve. God made a mistake, just like any human being would. Nobody is perfect, not even God.I know this because the Bible says that God created people with his own characteristics.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

um.. i agree with you except for one thing. you misinterpretted the own characteristics thing. God is perfect, when he was on earth he had no sin whatsoever. But the Bible said "In our own image" So while we have the same emotions and image as him, we had the choice to choose between him and whatever else. And adam and eve ruined it for the rest of humanity. We were created sinless, but sin entered the world after a wrong choice. God is perfect.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It is the influence of sin in our society which has manipulated the way we think. God did not create sin; Satan did, and so as people choose to think bad about themselves, they are supporting the ways of Satan (as a nice way to put it). God would not want us thinking anything bad of ourselves, afterall, he created us.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I couldn't of explained it better.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Do you have a YouTube video that proves we were walkin' around in our birthday suits not giving a crap? Or should I just take your little book's word for it?

So true

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's a big lie!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was lying, I'm sorry.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahaha nice.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hey buddy.. i agree with you, but saying that without a reason is gay. so please get off.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's called free will.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's the dumbest thing I've read all night ... God let you choose what you want to do ! Your mother gave you a big comforter to sleep with but you made a tent instead... That's kinda how it is...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's debatable - and no one will ever really know how much god, if He does exist, controls us or knows about us, and why he does the things he does. Sorry, but I hate when people argue about why or how god created us, and things of that topic. No one knows, people! Stop acting like you do!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well if I gave out 10 billion gifts I wouldn't care if a few weren't liked

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You ain't God.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes I am

by Anonymous 13 years ago

im thinking god wouldn't be this ignorant xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

true that. haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and thts y ur not God :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If I was God I would probably feel pretty bad. Oh wait, scratch that. I wouldn't feel anything because I wouldn't exist.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

First off, God is probably fiction. Second off, self-esteem is a myth created by pretty people to guilt ugly people into thinking they aren't trying hard enough to like their own appearances. Third off, IF God was real, he should take a little more time out for his creations.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God is busy running a universe. He doesn't have any time for idiots.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Too bad I'm not an idiot and he's fictional, or your statement might've been true. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Too bad that your vain enough to think that I meant you precisely. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha. I'm not vain at all. Actually, the furthest from that, but you did reply specifically to me, addressing ME, so forgive me if I assumed what I thought was obvious.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I replied to your comment because it would sound pretty stupid if I just wrote out a new comment as the same phrase. Unless I am delusional, I don't think I wrote; "Idiots like you.' now, did I?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Whatever you say, buddy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Your an idiot. Self-esteem isn't a myth, it's the name given to the unconfidence one feels about themselves. This is caused by the influence of sin in society. God can't control how you think; he gives you choices, and hopes that in the end, you will turn away from sin and chose the path of God. Stop being such a know all. I bet you have not even had one religious education class, never-less read a single Bible. You have just made your anti-God opinion based on nothing. Maybe you should be a little open-minded, instead of being so biast against something you know nothing about.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*You're. It really isn't nice to call people idiots, especially when you know nothing about them. Doesn't your precious Bible say, 'Judge not, lest ye be judged' or something of that sort in Luke? (: Who are you to assume I know nothing about God? My entire family are devout Christians, and I grew up in church, learning about God and Jesus, going to bible study, praying, the whole nine. It's just that my experiences and things I went through led me to believe that God isn't real, or that if he is, he must very cruel. He doesn't give me choices, I make my own. That's just my opinion. It has nothing to do with you. I can't help what I believe. If I could, I'm sure I would. It isn't easy getting bashed for your beliefs everyday, since I'm surrounded by Christians, but I refuse to keep my mouth shut and pretend otherwise, just because others aren't comfortable with my beliefs. It's good that you're secure in your faith though. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would just like to make something clear. I hate, hate when "Christians" call other people idiots for not believing the same way they do. It simply shouldnt happen. I have been called pretty much every name in the dictionary for believing in Christ but like you, i refuse to be silent. So, for all the christians on this post. I apologize.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you, very much.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Excuse me, but i called you an idiot because of your offensive insults and mockery towards God. If you knew all this about Christianity, then why did you say this: 'Second off, self-esteem is a myth created by pretty people to guilt ugly people into thinking they aren't trying hard enough to like their own appearances. If you know so much about the religion, why even bring this up, considering the fact that you should know that the issue isn't a myth AND that it's caused by the influence of sin in society.I guess i went a little over the top calling you an idiot, but yeah, my opinion on the issue if different, and so, sorry.Anyways bye. P.S. 'Sorry' i didn't spell my previous comment with the right 'you're', no one told me that you have to write with perfect grammar on this site.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't tend to correct people (I dislike Grammar Nazis). I only corrected you because you were so mean. Sorry. I do know alot about Christianity, and I really don't believe the issue is a myth, but I don't think it was caused by the influence of sin in society, either. But, yeah. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe the only reason you think your ugly is because others say you are. I can't help the way people treat me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well there is no god so we have no one to insult!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If your god didn't want me to call myself ugly, then he shouldn't have made me ugly. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. yeeah, cliche quote with a true meaning.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(the eye): If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then why am I not allowed to see myself as not beautiful? You're basically saying, "Beauty is in the everything of everyone, so shut up and don't say otherwise."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wait what? Way to put words in my mouth. I'm just trying to say that even if you think you're ugly, you're not. Ugliness is a state of mind.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(the eye): That's bullshit. No offense. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Saying no offence adds offence. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

D:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nah he's right. Some people like model-type people, some people like average-type people, some people like large people, some people like fat people, some people like short people, some people like tall people, everybody has preferences. He's totally right. Search your heart Luke, you know it to be true. /Jedi

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I didn't see the comment above this when I posted this, but it's still true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you don't believe in God, what's gunna happen when you die? You're not gunna get reincarnated, you're probably going to Hell. So what's so bad about the idea of getting saved? You really have nothing to lose if you believe.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Say. I. Wonder. I...): You really don't understand atheists/agnostics, do you? It's not that they haven't tried to believe or seriously considered it, or that they can just immediately switch to "eh, I suppose I could believe this", it's that they CAN'T believe. I know that's true for me. I really want to believe but logic keeps getting in my way.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i understand now :) Gosh the world is too logcial :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Say. I. Wonder. I...): What will happen? Nothing. We cease to exist. But honestly? If your god is the thing described in your Bible, send me to Hell. I would rather suffer for eternity than support such a screwed up...thing. If there is a god, I sure hope he's not anything like what people have made him/her/it out to be.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Say. I. Wonder. I...): You can't force yourself to believe in something you just think is complete bullshit just because you *might* be saved. It wouldn't be genuine belief.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Say. I. Wonder. I...): If I don't believe in God, I won't go anywhere when I die. Hell is for people who believe in it. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree with the first part... but me being an Atheist, dont agree with the whole god part.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this should be the post of the day >.> xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

god does not feel, for he does not exist.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God Exists.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Kill yourself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

^ ^ what a horrible thing to say ^^

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It appears that the panties have been bunched.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

For all of you out there who say God isn't real, how do u explain the thousands of people today and throughout history who have had encounters with angels/ demons and such? are u just goin to say tht everyone who's ever said they've seen an angel/ demon is crazy? Some supernatural things that take place in this world just don't add up unless u believe in God or a higher being.........jus sayin

by Anonymous 13 years ago

tbf, i think everyone is 'just saying.'

by Anonymous 13 years ago

holy shit. you actually believe the people who say those things??!?!?!?!??! WOW i am shocked. you are absolutely insane.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They could be lying, or embellishing, or any number of things. I'll believe angels and demons exist when I see one for MYSELF, not hear a story of somebody else's encounter.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You can beleive in God and parts of evolution, right?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You just have to believe that God was the one that set evolution in motion, that he created the junk we supposedly evolved from (evolution could be true but i refuse to believe that i came from some nasty mucus :P)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If God loves everyone, then why do people get sent to Hell?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God does love everyone and doesn't want people to go to hell. But remember, people have free will, so really, they're sending themselves to hell.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

^ thank you so much. you explained that pretty well. Yeah @446611 (lilyzilla): its important to remember that God loves us.. but he wants us to love us back. Think of a parent. You parents can pour their heart and soul out to you, but how would they know if their kid truely loved them back? Well if your parents gave you the choice between staying with them or leaving the house prematurely.. they could see. Likewise, God gave us the choice between him and the world. If we truely love God, then we will follow him, while other people who dont accept God walk in the other direction. And yeah, they leave the parents house prematurely because they think they know better. People send themselves to hell, as ironic as that sounds.. its true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

why can't you just say your parrents instead of god? im sure they made me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God cares about each and every one of us!! He loves everyone indivually!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh really then? then why do we die? why is there cancer and disease ? why are they starving good people around the world? if he loves us so much then why doesn't he create a paradise for everyone? yes they are bad people. but people aren't born bad! they grow in bad places and are raised the wrong way. So if god is real why didn't create a perfect heaven HERE on land?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He did all that a long time ago! But after the Fall (when adam and eve sinned) He had to take that all away, that was the deal, they sinned, and God had to keep the promise He made when he created eden. and just because someone is born and raised in a bad area doesn't mean that they can't turn out good. we are who we choose to be. God doesn't make us do bad things, we choose to do bad things

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Who knew such a good website is filled with so many idiots.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why doesn't everyone just shut up? Is it really necessary to insult the others' beliefs? Oh and by the way, go watch the sunrise. Look at it's beauty and please, PLEASE, just tell me "Oh! The sun! Those moleclues that combined millions of miles away at the exact right second in the exact right place are so beautiful to watch with my eyes that were perfectly designed to witness this!"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Your+name+(optional)): Yeah, my eyes are so perfectly designed that without human intervention I can't look at anything further than 5 feet in front of me without it becoming an unintelligible mess of blurry shapes. I guess I really should be thankful to this "God" of yours for designing my perfectly USELESS near-sighted eyes. Piss off you wanker!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol i read all these posts and the song "Lord I lift your name on high" just started playing in my head.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Your+name+(optional)): Damnit, now you got me -_-

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree with the OP SOSOSO much. Every time a girl says their ugly I'm like "You're dissing God, not yourself."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'd just like to add my personal opinion on intelligent design: people say that the proper conditions for life are so rare an so precise that they couldn't have happened by chance, something or someone must have designed them. But if the reason that creation must have been designed is that it is complex and precise, then the being that designed it must have been at least as equally complex as what it designed. Which begs the question of what then created the designer? or the designer's designer? Why do we stop at one creator? Better yet, why not believe that the universe just exists and accept that we can't understand why?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How could the sun know to rise and fall every day and night? And the moon just "happens" to rise at night at the same time, every night, for millions of years... all by themselves? God did that. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I fully agree that God did all that, but the Sun and Moon don't rise and fall, the Earth just rotates.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know that. But what I'm saying is that God makes the earth do that. I just had a bad analogy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

>implying that the sun is somehow intelligent. People like you shouldn't have been "designed" with a mouth. Also, it's billions of years, and be consistent. Either you believe in God and thus accept that the Earth was created like 3000 years ago or some dumbass notion, or you accept that God is a flawed human creation and the Earth has been around for billions of years. You can't put one foot in each camp, it doesn't work that way.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*Reads post; it's about God* *There are 122 comments* *Sighs* Of course.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

:D it's fun to read the arguments though

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just because we have freedom of religion doesn't mean we should bash each other for it.....God gave us a choice...choose wiselyyyyyyy

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Awwwh this is so sweet <3 thank you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yep, God's fake, it was an explosion caused by nothing that made fish that turned into monkeys that magically turned to humans /sarcasm

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Amen to that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Voted NW cause of the usage of god

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What the hell are all these arguments for? It was just an opinion! The person who posted this OBVIOUSLY wasn't trying to cause such a religious fuss. Get over it. It's just a really good and truthful AMIRITE. Take your opinions else where.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's only truthful if you believe in God, hence the arguments. Really, you needed that spelled out? Really?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No i didn't need that spelled out, so just get over it. IT'S JUST A POST. I made my personal opinion about this post towards the end of my previous comment, and it was only my opinion; i do understand what people are fighting about and i believe it's ridiculous. Once again my opinion, and i understand the predicament you 'thought' needed to be explained to me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is so true. It's a very good reminder for me too :]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i agree with yall lol. how this one little post got so many people arguing about religion and evolution and whatever else is beyond me. now personally i do believe in God, and it makes me sad to see people who don't, but arguing about it isn't going to help anyone on either side, people have to make decisions and form beliefs by themselves

by Anonymous 13 years ago

omgosh, I love how God was mentioned ONCE in the post and suddenly there's 100+ posts with people being like 'God's not real, stfu f-face-d-bag-a-hole-gay-person!!1!!!!1!!!!' XD They're all so passionate about trying to prove God isn't real, it's hilarious

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also this post made me happy =) it's so true!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If I gave you billions of gifts, and you said you didn't like a million of them, I wouldn't mind. If god made a billion people, and the one million people didn't like themselves, How sad would God be?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He'd be devastated. Because He spent so much time devoted to creating each of us the way He wants us to be, and He thinks we are perfect. We're all unique in our own ways and we all have our quirks and such, and if we don't like the way He made us or we try to change ourselves drastically it insults Him because he put so much effort forth into creating us into who and what we are. That's what makes me happy, knowing that He cares so much about us :D So basically if you spent lots of time crafting each gift so they were each special and unique, and I said I didn't like a million of them, I'm sure you'd be pretty insulted. Sorry, I talk a lot XD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why did he make disabled people? Why fat people? Why ugly people? Why would he deliberately give some people huge flaws to cope with and make others look like models? God seems like a prick to me, I wouldn't want to believe in such an ass.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You've got it all wrong, people are only ugly in our standards, get it? When you eliminate worldly standards of beauty or whatever, everyone is beautiful. People are created the way they are for a reason, whether fat, thin, tall, small, or disabled. Also, please don't call Him a prick, that's rather offensive.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Someones going to hell then.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Whenever you mention God, your post will get dozens of comments.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

here's a thought, none of you are real.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This guy..... This guy, man! This guy. He gets it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It bugs me that almost all the comments saying god isn't real are voted down, and almost all the comments saying god is real are voted up...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hey guys, its me again. It it literally impossible for me to debate against 40 people at the same time. But i enjoy this stuff so if you want to, feel free to message me and share your point. Or just yell at me.. idk whatever makes you sleep better at night.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To everyone who's debating the existence of God: There is no solid proof that God does or does not exist. We'll only know if He does exist once we reach death.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

HERPA DERP GUIZE GOD IS REAL OK HE TOLD ME SO.

by Anonymous 13 years ago
