-139 It's only pedophilia if the girl is prepubescent! Being attracted to girls around age 13-18 is perfectly natural, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Its only pedophilia if your an adult or somewhere above 16 and attracted to prepubescent. I mean, I cant judge.. You can be 13 for all I know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, if you're 13-18 too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So you're a 19 year old being attracted to an 18 year old is pedophilia? Great logic.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't think that's what he meant.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I kinda agree because of how there are 20-something year old women that look like they're 15 because they're 5' 2" and weigh 110. I know the whole phrase "age is just a number" is mocked a lot, but to be honest, that's all it really is. You can look as old as you want to look almost at anytime.

Part of your statement is true. It technically is not pedophilia, there is a different term for minors who have already hit puberty. But it is still wrong.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Take note of the teenager's perspective. I want to date a man older than I. My limit is 25. Why should that option be taken away from me just because I'm two years before the legal age of 18? Why should I be forced to ONLY take in the option of youthful, immature, naive morons who can't even properly keep an argument up outside of "um wow ur stupid lol :)"? It's not like all acts of ephebophilia and hebephilia are rape. It can be consented by both parties.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Wow so Elvis is kind've a perv.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well you're right about the first line. Attraction to minors going through puberty is hebephilia and attraction for those after is ephebophelia. ... don't ask me how I know. Just do, k?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

How is this negative?...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think people are thinking about a 40 year old man being attracted to someone around 13, not someone who's like 25 being attracted to a 17 year old or something.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You're probably right... Although, honestly, depending on //how// developed the 13 year old is, that has the potential to not be too bad. Unless we're considering the attraction love (as opposed to simple sexual attraction) in which case it would be somewhat odd.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think it all depends on both their maturity. Like if a 19 or 20 year old were to date someone 15 or 16, I don't think that would be a problem if they both found each other and themselves to be mature enough.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Surprised no one has mentioned this (that i saw): RULE OF THUMB: 1/2 your age plus 7 i.e John, 24, may date someone 19 or older. Not saying this is a perfect rule or anything, and there are definitely exceptions, but this is a good guideline for young people, when just a few years can make a huge difference in maturity and readiness for different kinds of relationships. I don't think it matters as much After you're 30 or so.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I actually like that rule... My limit is still set to no more than 4 years older than me, but I will keep this rule in mind...

All this, and I the 18 year old high school senior feels disgusted at myself for liking freshman. So wait a sec am I in the clear?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Before I graduated this year, I met and started to have a crush on this guy at school who I could have sworn graduated the year before me. Turns out he was a freshman, but he looked SO MUCH OLDER. It was ridiculous and I died a little inside :/
