+695 if the temperature outside is 0 degrees and tomorrow will be twice as cold, how cold will tomorrow be, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

-98.6º.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

-33. If you're talking 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@446643 (twisted_memories): How did you guys get those numbers?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Zero degrees Fahrenheit is roughly the equivalent to -18 degrees Celsius. -36 degrees Celsius (or twice -18) is roughly the equivalent to -33 degrees Fahrenheit! :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thats complicated but might be right

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha it's right, I just used a unit converter and rounded the numbers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It never said Fahrenheit, though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's why I said "if you're talking Fahrenheit."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but -36 isnt twice as cold as -18 its only 18 degrees colder

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Uh... What?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He's saying that -36 multiplied by 2 is not equal to -18. So, ironically, twice as cold as -36 degrees is actually 72 degrees. :B

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's -18 multiplied by two, then converted back to Fahrenheit...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

NO YOU'RE WRONG.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No converting allowed. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That wasn't stated!!!~!@R%!#$^ERY!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

-18 x 2 = -36. -18 + (-18) = -36. Same thing...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Where's the zero? How'd you get 18 without converting? :O

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nobody said I couldn't convert. You can't bring in a rule once the game has begin.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What do you mean nobody said it? I just did. :B

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But see, you said it too late for it to count as a rule, therefore I CAN convert.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Who said we can't change rules mid-way through? That was never stated, so I can. :B Lol paradox.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's a given rule for all rule-change situations. All rules (other than this rule) must be stated prior, or else newly instated rules do not apply. However, a official rule instating can occur mid-way IF, and only if, the rule does not contradict something previously stated. I should be a law student! lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But your given rule cannot escape my paradox! MWAHAHAHAHA! >:]

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It can because it's a given rule, meaning it does not need to be stated prior. Bahahahahha!!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OH GOD YOU'RE RIGHT. WHY WASN'T I INFORMED???? D: I wonder though, if there were a list of given rules posted somewhere, would they still be given rules?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They would still be given because although a list existed, the list doesn't NEED to exist... A given rule can be stated, it just doesn't have to :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

but if that logic is true then if 70 is considered cold whats twice as cold as 70? 35?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

u guys are all over-thinking this...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

-136 degrees :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The answer is always pi. Mmmmm, pi.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My brain hurts. .. . ... .

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I say, convert to kelvin then double. But since there are no units given to begin with, the question doesn't even make sense

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's what I did, except I halved it, because twice as cold would be half as hot. But yes, we need units D:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well the concept of something like "twice as cold" doesn't really exist like that, it's something we made up. But if anything I'd say (in the case of fahrenheit) -100 because that would feel like "twice as cold" to us.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The answer is 273.15 degrees. The coldest temperature reachable, known as absolute zero, is -273.15 degrees. If we were to double the difference between this temperature and 0 degrees, we would have 273.15 degrees.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, my friend, but only math-wise. In the physical plane, "twice as cold" actually means colder and not hotter.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cold doesn't exist. There is only the absence of heat. So, half of 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) Is 16. Or -33 if it's in Celsius to begin with.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how about we all just decide that it's really fucking cold and we should stay inside.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The poster is from Massachusetts (yes, I'm a stalker). This means it's likely he used fahrenheit. 0 degrees fahrenheit=-17.778 degrees celsius. -17.778 degrees celsius=252.2 kelvin. If we make that twice as cold, it's 126.1 kelvin. If you convert it back into fahrenheit it's -232.7 degrees. Damn, that's cold. -232.7 degrees is my final answer.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you stalker

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Everyone, i believe he is talking in kelvin

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Stolen from MLIA!!!! I blame EBAUMS! YOU DUN GOOF'D!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

THE ANSWER IS PENIS
