It's appalling that Johhny Depp hasn't won a single Oscar, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
He doesn't care, so don't sweat it =)
by Anonymous13 years ago
Pfft, well I care that such an amazing, versatile actor has been overlooked.
by Anonymous13 years ago
But he's that down to earth, he never goes to award ceremonies an they get sent to him by post and shit, he'd rather spend time with his family :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
wow, i just assumed he had!!
by Anonymous13 years ago
All he really wanted was to be a musician; I'm sure he's just glad his acting career gives him the freedom to pursue his music without worrying about "making it" or being broke. =)
He also doesn't usually do the kinds of movies that the Academy pays attention to.

Oscar awards are not decided by 14yr old girls.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Ouch, but still it is a lot more than just 14 year old girls that like him.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I would say he should've won for Sweeney Todd, but DDL was just too good in There Will Be Blood.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh yes! There will be blood was so amazing! Daniel Day Lewis blew me away.
by Anonymous13 years ago
That just shows much much of a shit "actor" he is.

off the island, thanks, bye.

He hasnt made a good movie since edward scissorhands. That might explain a few things...
by Anonymous13 years ago
His movies are more of cult classics. And if the only movies that you can name of his are Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, then you hardly know his works.
Edward Scissorhands was fantastic. So was Benny and Joon. He was also great in Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, Secret Window and Ed Wood. So don't hate if you haven't actually watched any of his movies that weren't meant for children.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I loved him in Benny and Joon.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I definitely agree with this.
Johnny Depp is a talented actor, but he's not Oscar material, which I actually admire. I lose respect for an actor who's polished to win awards, because there's so much more to theatre than fame and prizes.
And he was wonderful in Benny and Joon. Sam is my favorite character that he's ever played. :3
by Anonymous13 years ago
Baaaaaaaaaahhhhh, Sam is the love of my life. :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
No, he's mine! D:

I saw him in Crybaby. That was the stupidest, GREATEST musical ever. I don't know anyone who has seen it, but my cousin and I. (:
by Anonymous13 years ago
I saw the beginning. It was weird, with the squares and the drapes...
by Anonymous13 years ago
I lovedddd it. It was kind of like a parody of Grease, but it did have some cute music in it.

What's more appalling is that George Clooney won an Oscar for some crappy ass movie. Just goes to show that if a film has Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and George Clooney, its automatically a good movie because of critics who wouldn't know a good movie from a bad one.
I don't really like Johnny Depp and think he's grossly overrated, but he's a far better actor than most Oscar winners.

Gilbert grape!
by Anonymous13 years ago
I loved What's eating Gilbert Grape <3

He deserved an Oscar for Jack Sparrow. None of his other performances were really Oscar-worthy.
All of his performances in Tim Burton movies are variations of each other.
