Football is football. None of this 'soccer' bollocks. I don't even know how a person basically reversed the principals of a sport, retained the name and just added the word 'American' in front of it. And I bloody hate football.

Too many amazing sports to choose just one! Personally I love cross-country skiing, even though pretty much nobody in the States cares about it. Soccer is pretty awesome too, though.

I'm from Ireland and we call football soccer as we have our own version of football. The UK is for some reason the only English speaking country that calls it football even though they invented it and all the other sports in other countries were originally based on it. The reason it is so popular is down to the fact that anyone can play it, its a cheap game where all you need is a football to play and the rules are very simple. However, in my opinion, it is not an entertaining sport to watch, only to play. Rugby (also loosely based on football) is far more entertaining to watch, in my opinion, but very difficult to play and so not as popular.
