yepp, the heat from the drink is going to the [lack of] heat in the ice, making the drink cold [though nothing is technically cold, its just a lot less hot] lol

The ice in your beverage draws in heat from the medium around it, which cools the medium. The temperature of the ice actually rises to its melting point, then the ice melts. For this reason, some ice is warmer than other ice. You'll get all that in a chemistry class eventually. =]
