maybe you have to look at it from a different point of view. like the dead rottweiler is a dream of his hes chasing but its kinda like.. dead(and everybody knows) but hes still bringing it with him(the walk in the park) because he cant let go of it. and the whole head chopped off thing is that its been beaten and what not. and the spiked collar is that its either showing its strong or that it shows that he still is trying to show it off. "hollerin' at him 'cause the son of a bitch wont quit barkin'" is that he knows its bad for him but it(dog/dream) wont let him forget about it.

Lose Yourself isn't exactly random. It's definitely a mixture of things that don't matter but they all lead up to the chorus which is profound enough to say it's a meaningful song.
