+435 The people that came up for the names of phobias are an awfully cruel bunch. They almost always incorperate the actual fear in the name, amirite?

I have a phobia of bad spelling. Thanks for "incorperating" that in your post, dipshit.

Eh hem. Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia anyone?

FEAR OF LONG WORDS! Next.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol right? The person with the fear can't even tell you what phobia they have without freaking out lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Um... not really. Some use the latin word for a thing, but if you're so scared of spiders you can't say "arachnophobia" then fear of spiders isn't your only problem.

The OP is referring to phobias like hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia (the fear of long words) and Aibohphobia (the fear of palindromes). The first one is a long word and the second is a palindrome.

fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself.

I heard that Aibohphobia is the fear of palindromes, words that are spelt the same forwards and backward XD
