But Mr. Krabs says that that wasn't the actual secret formula. It was just meant to scare Plankton. And then Squidward says that the real formula is probably at home under Mr. Krabs's mattress and Mr. Krabs runs out yelling, "Curse you, Squidward!"

Wasn't that a fake, though? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I vaguely remember that Mr. Krabbs had switched out the formula for a fake one which had 'Plankton' as one of the ingredients, but it was only to scare him off.

I think that's a different episode. The OP said Spongebob revealed the secret formula. And I remember when that was a new episode so I doubt that was in season 1

Are you talking about the very first episode to introduce Plankton? I think Plankton makes that machine that reveals the ingredients of anything. He controls Spongebob's brain and forces him to take a krabby patty and go near the machine and says "Any last words?" and Spongebob reveals the formula by talking about the juicy patty, or something to that effect and Plankton's mouth waters and he dives to the Krabby Patty but misses and goes into the machine instead, where it says: "Plankton: 1% Evil, 99% Hot Gas". Is that the one you were talking about?

Yeah, but he says "secret" before it all, so obviously that's too complicated of a code for plankton.

Guys they're not talking about the Plankton's Army one... in that one the formula was fake. The OP said HE reveals the formula to Plankton...meaning Spongebob told him (seeing as that's the only name he mentioned). It wasn't when Plankton found the book. It was when Plankton used mind-control on Spongebob to drop a Krabby Patty into his "ingredient machine." Before they even drop the patty though, Spongebob kinda spills the beans.

And yes, that is in season one from what I recall.. Plankton's Amy might not be though. I don't remember.

Well he doesnt reveal the important part of the formula... Anyone could see the lettuce and cheese and whatever toppings but the important part which is never revealed is what is put in the actual patty to make it taste good.
