Theres no way "If Its Love" or "Hey, Soul Sister" will EVER compare to "Drops of Jupiter" or "Meet Virginia." Its like the original Train was a steam-model train: classy, rough on the outside but great on the inside. However, times are changing and the steam engine has been replaced with a crummy chrome and plastic commuter train: its just kind of there to make money. Nothing like the original.... amirite?
Calling all Angels.
I think the biggest difference is the mood in the music. The new music is much happier.
Hey Soul Sister, is every bit as good as the original train. I mean have you ever heard them live? They still've got it!
Embrace the new, every once in a while, it'll do you good.
Yeah, I know they can still put on a great show, I am just saying that their music isn't as good as it used to be...their older songs always sounded sort of original and uncut, but the new one doesn't. I don't think its that bad, its just not as good as it used to be.
I'll take any Train I can get, 'Meet Virginia' is one of my all time favorite songs, and 'Hey Soul Sister' is totally in the same league if you ask me
to each his(her) own.
Yeah I agree with (most) of that! :)
But You Already Know is so awesome! :)
Meet Virginia is one of my all time favourite songs, and so is Hey Soul Sister, but I can see what the OP is talking about... Meet Virginia was definitely less poppy and more country-ish than their new album, but their style is still there
Drops of Jupiter is one of my favorite songs.
Actually, trains have always been around to make money.
Actually I have their new album and I can listen to it all the way through. It's a great CD.
I liked their old stuff too, but I don't think they've gotten worse.
Untill a few seconds ago, I thought train was crap. 'hey, soul sister' is annoying. I didn't know that they were the people who sang drops of Jupiter. I LOVED that song. Now they're not so bad :)
PREACH.
Although unlike you, I definitely AM saying they suck now. Did you see them on americas got talent? It was embarrassing.
You should have stopped before train. . .
I like all of those songs so...
