personally i like it when someones gives me a gift rather than money because it means they atually put some thought into what i would like. on the other hand though, cash is a lot more versatile.

Yeah, me too. Sometimes, when people give you money, it's as if they forgot it's your birthday and just happened to have some cash with them.

Depends on the situation for me, I guess.
"Here's a book about cats! It even comes with stickers!! Happy Birthday!"
"Here's $100! Happy Birthday!"
Gotta say, I'd prefer the money in that case.

Same, but I have a habit of losing money.

I'd like a gift better because then I know u tried and didnt just pull out 10 bucks because you forgot my birthday.

I asked my mom once if she would buy me presents one year instead of giving me money. She laughed and told me she was going to the dollar store to get me something "special."
I prefer money over gifts.

I like gifts better because a lot of the things I want are online. I'd rather get those things on the day of my brithday rather than order on my birthday, and then wait 5-12 business days.
