+634 Throwing up, making a fool out of yourself, possibly hurting yourself or someone else, passing out and waking up the next morning feeling like shit... Call me crazy, but binge drinking seems kinda stupid, amirite?

I'll never understand why they do it. My experiences with drunk people makes me cringe even at the thought of alcohol.

Same here. It's like that's all anyone wants to do anymore is drink drink drink party party party. It's getting really irritating

Unless you tried it don't talk about it.

NZ has a huge drinking culture with teenagers. I suppose it depends what you've grown up knowing as 'acceptable'.. When I drink, everyone else gets shit-faced too, and usually you wake up thinking the hangover was worth the fun you had last night. I mean, you do some embarrassing shit, but because pretty much all NZ kids grow up in this culture, its normal. But I agree with your post, it is dumb. And I think its bad, but its a vice of all NZers.

Don't knock it till you try it

In all my shit-faced drunken days I've never gotten a hangover. It makes me wonder what it's like. But sometimes you're with fun drunks like myself where you want nothing more than to bring a video camera to record the fantastic events that transpire.

I so miss binge drinking. The worst hangovers are soooo worth it. The only thing that makes it not worth it is when it starts becoming a problem. That's when it's time to stop.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Then if you loved it so much, why did you quit? There HAS to be a reason, think back to that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly. But my mom always made it seem like alcohol is the worst thing in the world...I can't even touch a beer bottle without feeling disgusting.

Because alcohol is an addictive substance and it started becoming a problem. Because I stopped before it was a real problem, now, close to two years later, I can drink in moderation. But I haven't gotten drunk since December 08. The truth is I hate alcohol for what it does to the people I love in the long run. But for those few hours it's a lot of fun. The reasons not to drink are very different ones than the ones written in this post. I didn't vote either way because I do agree that drinking is not a smart thing to do.
