You realize that 'dumb' means the inability to speak, 'lame' means having a physical disability, etc, right? And I'm fairly certain you have nothing against the physically disabled, yet you certainly wouldn't feel like a jerk using the term 'lame' to describe something bad.
But that's not what thatguys was talking about. S/he was referring to the logic that if you use 'gay' to mean bad you are therefore afraid of homosexuals. S/he was just twisting what funkysox789 meant around.
Well, I stand corrected, then. Why, then, if you know, would anyone call someone who hated homosexuality a homophobic, as a opposed to a 'homoist', or something of that nature, so as to remove the difficulty of determining whether the speaker is referring to fear or hatred of homosexuals?
Now that, kind sirs and madams, is a long sentence.
Because it is so much harder to say homoist than it is to say homophobe, and because -phobia means "fear or hatred." People just always associate it with the fear part and ignore the hatred part.
Unless the reason they hate them is because it's more like they think of them as inferior, in which case they wouldn't consider them capable enough to be dangerous, probably.
Then again, elephants are definitely dangerous, as well as bears.
Because society has allowed for multiple meanings of a fucking word. If the definitions of words never changed due to slang, we wouldn't have a lot of words that were probably offensive when they were first heard.
It seems like more heterosexual people get butthurt over the word gay than homosexuals.
As a member of the LGBT community, I will call things gay all I want. If it's only acceptable for black people to say "nigger" then it is only acceptable for homosexuals to say "gay."
That's dumb. I disagree that it's okay for one group of people to use a word that is otherwise seen in a negative context. It's called a double standard.
Lol @ people getting butthurt over the use of the word gay. There wouldn't this many people complaining if he said the word "nigger", even though that would probably be just as or more offensive. Get over it, he doesn't just drop IQ points just because he used a word.
I think it's perfectly fine when a strait guy calls someone or something gay as an insult, non gay things typically wouldn't enjoy being gay. Just like how if I told my homosexual friend he was being really strait recently he should be very offended, because that's not who he is or wants to be represented by. It's all about perspective and the only reason it doesn't go both ways is because homosexuals are such a minority.
You guys need to chill out, most urban teenagers use "gay" as slang. I know most of my school does, and no one gets offended. People are way too sensitive these days smh.
It's really fucking stupid that you use the word gay as a bad adjective to describe something that annoys you. You're a homophobic jerk.
You realize that 'dumb' means the inability to speak, 'lame' means having a physical disability, etc, right? And I'm fairly certain you have nothing against the physically disabled, yet you certainly wouldn't feel like a jerk using the term 'lame' to describe something bad.
lol he's afraid of homosexuals just because he used "gay" in a slang context?
The terms are slightly different. HomoPHOBIA is to be afraid of homesexuals. While racism is simply hating of another race.
But that's not what thatguys was talking about. S/he was referring to the logic that if you use 'gay' to mean bad you are therefore afraid of homosexuals. S/he was just twisting what funkysox789 meant around.
Homophobia is the irrational fear or hatred of homosexual. Racism is fear or hatred towards another race. -phobia has more than one meaning.
Well, I stand corrected, then. Why, then, if you know, would anyone call someone who hated homosexuality a homophobic, as a opposed to a 'homoist', or something of that nature, so as to remove the difficulty of determining whether the speaker is referring to fear or hatred of homosexuals?

I see. Admittedly, though, hate is usually a side effect of fear. Most arachnophobics, for example, probably hate spiders/ticks/mites.
That is true. And most racists probably feel scared when surrounded by the race they hate. It goes both ways really.
Unless the reason they hate them is because it's more like they think of them as inferior, in which case they wouldn't consider them capable enough to be dangerous, probably.
Then again, elephants are definitely dangerous, as well as bears.
The term "homophobe" maybe confusing by the root word "phobe" but it doesn't mean they are afraid of them, they are simply against them.
im sorry i was just trying to conjure up a word, your right i should have said its dumb or something i have nothing against homosexuals :D
If you had nothing against homosexuals why did you use the word "gay" as a bad word?
Because society has allowed for multiple meanings of a fucking word. If the definitions of words never changed due to slang, we wouldn't have a lot of words that were probably offensive when they were first heard.
Have you learned nothing from Wanda Sykes?
I just really wanna say this so Imma do it:
You wanna know what's gay? HOMOSEXUALITY.
Is it bad that I have no idea what the fuck this post is saying?
It seems like more heterosexual people get butthurt over the word gay than homosexuals.

Affirmative action works both ways.
No, actually that's not homosexual at all.
So how is that "gayy"?
Lol @ people getting butthurt over the use of the word gay. There wouldn't this many people complaining if he said the word "nigger", even though that would probably be just as or more offensive. Get over it, he doesn't just drop IQ points just because he used a word.
Actually, I think more people would be complaining if he said that.

It's not about being offensive. It's about sounding like an idiot. Here is the post with the actual meaning of gay substituted in.
"Its really happy when people try to hide their accent because most accents are either hot on guys or just suddely cute on girls... amirite?"
or
"Its really carefree when people try to hide their accent because most accents are either hot on guys or just suddely cute on girls... amirite?"
or
"Its really homosexual when people try to hide their accent because most accents are either hot on guys or just suddely cute on girls... amirite?"
See? It makes no sense. It makes you sound like a bigot asshole and nobody likes a bigot asshole.
Also, WTF is "suddely"?
Your post is incredibly obnoxious. You realize the meaning of words change, right? For example, 'nice' originally meant ignorant.
