Don't get me wrong, I understand what you are saying, but the idea of not being a virgin even though you haven't officially had sex yet makes no sense. I mean if you want to get technical you can say that penetration means you're not a virgin, however if you want to be anatomical that penetration could be a finger, a tongue or what have you. But no, that does not make one not a virgin anymore. The idea behind virginity is sex, pure raw sex. No questions asked.

I agree. I mean if people consider any penetration to mean a loss of virginity then most girls lose their virginity the first time they wear a tampon.

This is a touchy subject for some. We learned about in health. I completely agree with you, you are still a virgin until you have actual sex. However, in health we discussed the real definition of sex is oral, anal or vaginal. And being a virgin means you don't have sex. So if you're going with the technical definition, oral sex makes you not a virgin. But this is one of those things you have to decide yourself in what you believe.
