+100 I went to McDonald's today. there was tax on my burger. They just shouldn't put tax on food, EVER, amirite?

Well, isn't their automatically already a tax over every product you buy?

It sort of depends on where you live. Some places have a sales tax, but others do not.

I'm pretty sure there's sales tax here on everything, but on basic products it's really low

Meal tax... if someone prepares your food for you, it's taxed. At least, that's how I was told it worked; it might be different depending on where you live

I believe there's food in the grocery store that's non taxable. Though I'm not entirely sure.
