It only sounds right to say "passed away" if someone died of disease, old age, or some other slow death. Nobody "passes away" in a plane crash, amirite?

when someone says "passed away" they are refering to them passing (if you believe in god) up to heaven.

I think we should say, "past away" delegating them to the past!
