-377 It's called pop, not soda. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i cant even describe how right this is

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

YES

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Saying "pop" instead of "soda" makes it sound like you're from the 1950's

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Other way around.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It isn't either, it's called coke

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I call it that too and everyone says "You mean POP!?" Freaking Michiganders.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's called purple drink because there is no other than grape soda.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It depends on where you live, actually. In the Midwest it's usually called pop, and I know for a fact down South people call everything 'Coke' because my relatives from Oklahoma say it for everything. >.>

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You beat me to that post :/ just to add all of the Canadians I know say pop, so farther north also uses pop.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oklahoma isn't south; everybody I know there calls it pop. Now where i live, Louisiana which is south, we most definitely call everything coke.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Technically, Oklahoma is in the south, but i don't really consider it "Southern" either. I live in Louisiana too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If anything I'd call it midwest but not south.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cool story bro. I don't really care what you consider it, I was stating what I know from my experiences. "HURR DURR LET'S GET TECHNICAL ABOUT WHAT OKLAHOMA IS CONSIDERED, DERP!1!1"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not so much a story but being able to actually read a map or have basic knowledge of geography.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know, I'm not four. I was just using a meme to imply that I don't care. Also, I do have basic knowledge of geography, thanks. I think it's South, you think it's Midwest. Not that big of a deal.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm just letting you know that way for future reference you wont actually sound like you're 4.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OH WOW THANKS. Without that, my life would never be complete! By the way, it's grammatically incorrect to type/write '4' as a number, you're supposed to spell it out. I'm just letting you know for future reference so you look educated.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe its called the Internet for a reason. When I am in my college classes I do use correct grammar. When I'm on the internet and don't particularly care what a bunch of kids think then I don't worry as much. What's the worst that can happen, a whiny teenager acts like they're the shit because i typed "4"??? Not a big issue to me when said whiny kid doesn't even know basic geography. Thanks anyway though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah, that makes more sense..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I know, right! I live in Louisiana too and if I ask someone if they want a Coke I start saying all the kinds I have, like Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Root beer.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When I lived in Ohio everybody called it pop. I live in Arizona now and everybody calls it soda and I had to get it right because I would get a lot of weird looks when I said pop.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why'd you move to Arizona? Too many restraining orders?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God damn it can I at least make ONE comment without acting as fucking pedobear!?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I live in NY and say pop!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I live in Florida and we either call it a coke or a soda:)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ugh, I call it soda, and I'm in the Midwest so I am like the only person who does...but I'm still right! ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm in the Midwest too and it's SODA. We're totally right.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To my knowledge the whole of England says Pop :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Then your knowledge is wrong, sorry mate. We tend to call it 'fizzy drink' in the South..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I dunno why, but "pop" sounds horribly unintelligent.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, it's called Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, etc. No one I know calls it soda or pop. And, I live in GA.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

in canada we call it pop

by Anonymous 13 years ago

montana=pop :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Illinois= pop. You get a scolding and a funny look if you call it anything else. "Soda" sounds unappealing...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I have a friend who moved down here to Louisiana from Illinois and she said pop too. But it's been about 4 years since she moved here and she says soda or coke like a real southerner. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Pop is a drink. Soda is a baking ingredient.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

pop is a noise. Soda is a delicious fizzy drink.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My thoughts exactly!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I say a mix because of the east coast of the midwest. It just depends on where you learned it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Can't cure cancer but we have a map dipicting how everyone in the U.S. refers to carbonated beverages :S

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Apparently in my town, it's the thing to call it "pop." I call it soda. :I

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think the technical name is "soda-pop" I cant be sure though :P
