+320 Singers: being an alto doesn't mean you can't sing high, it just means you sound better singing low! Amirite?

The altos in my chorus barely sing to begin with...

I'm an alto, and I used to have a range that could go from a low tenor to 2nd soprano. Then I get really sick and it killed my voice, so I lost the soprano part.

Aww, that sucks! :( I'm also an alto, but on a clear day (no allergies or anything) I can sing up to a high A and a low E.

I have the exact same range! Spooky haha. But I'm sick of being told in chorus that a C# is at the top of my range, when it's nowhere near! Thank you for this post<3

I'm an alto.. But I honestly can't hit some of the high notes to save my life :( I have a very low singing voice, though my talking voice is higher pitched. It's weird.

i'm an alto - i can go from a low e to a high b flat (although it takes some serious warming up)

I'm a soprano, but I'd much prefer to be an alto. I think I sound better in a lower key.

I'm a soprano and an alto. Its kind of funny when I'm with altos who can only hit an e but yes its definatly possible to be a high alto.

I'm in soprano 2 but I think I could be in alto 1, alto 2 is too low for me though.
