+331 What is it with actors portraying teenagers with clear, beautiful skin? i want to see acne, folks--let's be honest, it's quite prevalent amongst us angsty teens here in the real world. amirite?

One reason is that the actors that are supposed to be playing 'teens' are like 20something.

exactly! i'd like to see real teenagers playing teenagers!

I know! It's damaging to real teenagers self esteem!

But it's also disgusting, directors don't want to gross the audience out. And it's distracting; have you ever been trying to talk to someone with acne and couldn't stop staring at their zits? I don't want movies to be like that...

but it's real. most teens have it. if acne was better represented in pop culture (wow, just typing that out sounds so weird) perhaps we wouldn't find it so incredibly repulsive. i'm not saying a face absolutely drowning in acne...but to see so many clear faces makes me feel...i don't know, sad? about my own acne-ridden teenage experience? xD

I just like this because you said angsty. I was beginning to feel like i was the only person who described teenagers as such.

teenagers and angst go hand-in-hand, i thought it was common knowledge...unless you were talking about the fact "angsty" isn't an actual word xD either way, thanks
