+389 It really pisses you off when people use "good" and "well" interchangeably. You didn't "do good", you "did well", amirite?

I'm constantly correcting my husband about this!

sad thing is, they're usually lost causes :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

are you superman? no. so you don't "do good" you "do well." its so annoying when people use those words in the wrong way -_-

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And then they get mad at your for correcting them. I'm just trying to show you how to speak correctly.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, they get mad at your a lot, I bet.

It's even more annoying when someone says "I'm not feeling good" and someone else tries to correct them by saying "I'm not feeling well". If you're going to correct someone, at least know what you're talking about.

Yep, because linking verbs take a predicate adjective... People always hypercorrect on things like that and are convinced they're right, so I usually don't even bother saying anything.

paranoid grammar Nazis.....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it's not even about being a grammar nazi. grammar rules aren't meant to be broken. period.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It is I'm not feeling well...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its rly not that big of a deal. Lol who cares? Its more annoying when ppl r nazis abt it...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's not the point. you could say that someone saying "2+2=5" is not a big deal, but regardless if it's a big deal or not, it's still wrong.
