He was, according to Wikipedia, pressured by his granddaughter who swore to never talk to him if he refused to play Dumbledore.
I was so disappointed when they had no choice but to replace him :(
I read the books, and I remember Dumbledore was a lot quirkier than either of the Dumbledores, but the second one seemed quirkier than the former.
I think so too. The older one was nicer but you could tell his was a bit more frail and not quirky.
I agree, the old Dumbledore seemed so wise and nice, while the new Dumbledore seemed so... battle-ready.
(The Doctor): I think that's because of the way the writers portrayed him in the later films. Not because the new Dumbledore is naturally aggressive.
I always thought that the new Dumbledore was a better fit for Aberforth...
I feel bad.The orginal guy who played Dumbledore died :(
Neither of them are as good as the guy from AVPM though.
They shouldv'e had the man who played Gandalf in Lord of The Rings play Dumbledore ^ That being said, I actually love the new Dumbledore
can't tell if trolling or if genuinely unknowing
...unknowing of what? She's right.
Men who played Dumbledore: Michael Gambon and Richard Harris. Sir Ian McKellin was Gandalf?:)
Yes, Sir Ian McKellen was Gandalf. He was also Magneto.
But from what I heard, he was actually asked about playing Dumbledore, and he said he would have turned it down.
Yes yes yes! I totally agree and I've always said this too. The older Dumbledore was wiser, kinder, older yet stronger. he was awesome.
this new dumbledore is sarcastic, rude, annoying, un-dumbledore like!
I wasn't even aware that he had been replaced.
i actually never rly noticed the diff its just one of those things some ppl madea a big deal of ... but i dunno maybe im crazy
.....how could u not notice!?!?! the 1st one was soft and nice but the 2nd one was harsher and i dunno a bit colder :S I was soo depressed that he died TT.TT
