+275 I don't get why shampoo bottles have directions on them. If this is your first time shampooing then you obviously haven't learned to read yet, amirite?

Some of them have special directions. Some are dry shampoos, some should be left in for a couple of minutes. Besides, the second they don't put in the directions and warning, someone's going to mess up using the shampoo, and the shampoo company is going to get sued. Like the coffee situation at McDonald's. Do you really need a little label telling you that coffee is hot? No, but if someone burns him or herself and wants to blame it on a company to get money, it protects the company.

A warning is different than directions.

Even directions though. "Well, I didn't know that the shampoo was for my hair and that it needed to be washed out. It ran into my eyes."

But it would be in the warning to keep the shampoo out of your eyes.

The directions tell you where to put the shampoo, and how to apply it and take it out. If someone uses it for the wrong purpose, there were no directions, so how were they to know?

So they don't get sued when some idiot tries to drink it.

Or maybe they do know how to read, but they can't afford shampoo, just because somebody hasn't used shampoo doesn't mean they are young enough to not be reading, they may live in a third world country
