+212 What came first, the chicken or the egg? The more important question is who cares? What is one going to do with this information when they get it? "Ha! *dramatic glasses-ripping-off-the-face action* The egg came first. You scientists are out of the job," amirite?

I doubt many scientists are devoting their lives to find out which came first. xD

Probably not any, especially since it's not actually a science question.

I'll solve this mystery for you right now. It depends on what you believe. Creationism: Chicken came first as God made it. Evolution: Egg came first as the creatures that would eventually evolve into modern day chickens had to have laid eggs until one day, that egg hatched into a modern chicken. Case closed

i read this in the sun newspaper (in the UK). the chicken comes first, because some scientists discovered that chicken eggs contain a protein that can only be produced by chickens, hence it would be impossible to have a chicken egg without a chicken.

But the question isn't "chicken or chicken egg" is it, now.

the chicken defianatley came first... who would've laid the egg??? aaanndd if by some reason the egg came first what would be there to sit on it, protect it, nurture it, and care for it? therefore the chicken came before the egg.
