+93 we all try to fit in but what is "fitting in?" trying to be someone your not so your part of the cool crowd or being yourself and letting people accept you. Society has created a cloak to make everyone think that their uniqueness is weird. I say fuck it. Yell at the top of your lungs. Dance like no ones watching. But most of all have fun because you never know when its all going to end, amirite?

Oh hey you're so original, I've never heard this being said ever, you're so clever and inspirational. Fitting in doesn't mean acting quietly and dancing elegantly. People want to fit in because being truly weird (not just wearing "weird" clothes and listening to "obscure" music) is difficult. It sounds cute, all this said about how one must "stand out" and "be yourself" because who cares about society, but it's not like that. Those who do in fact shout and dance like idiots are the normal "cool" people nowadays. I propose acting decent for fuck's sake, and stop embarrassing your generation.

While I agree with you, this comment is so damn overdone I don't want to actually press the agree button. This message is found in 95% of movies, books, and TV shows nowadays. You're just preaching to the choir.

You know what, I would honestly rather fit in. At the risk of sounding like some emo whiney special snowflake, I never really fit in, I always felt like a fucking outcast my whole life, and I don't know if that's gonna change. Like, I dunno, maybe this isn't unique, maybe it's just a normal feeling for every young adult, but I feel so different and odd and disconnected from everyone, and I want to assimilate, I try to, and I would honestly prefer fitting in to standing out.

"Being different" is the new cool, so people have started acting weird just for the sake of being different, which I think is worse. Guess what? Being "normal" is perfectly NORMAL, and it isn't wrong.

Instead of aiming to be different, you ought to just try and like what you wanna like and do what you wanna do. And none of this YOLO shit. You only live once yeah. But don't spend it goofing off, make something of yourself you pretentious prick.

How about you just be yourself and ignore what other people think?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No fuck that. Everyone conform. MOHAWKS FOR ALL!
