+202 Dear Entire World But Especially Euros and Aussies: Constantly going on and on about a country you more than likely do NOT have first-hand experience being in for any extended amount of time makes you look and sound like a bitter and hate-filled asshole, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Seriously! I'm fucking tired of people lumping all of America together. It's a big country with a lot of people, obviously not everyone is as bad as they make us seem.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and the saddest part of all is that this post will be voted down into the red eventually. oh well. I've come to find the truth is hard to accept.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The saddest part is, you don't realise you're stereotyping an entire continent and a country, while having a go at them for stereotyping your country. (I am assuming you are American.)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Get off your high horse, if people disagree with you the only possible explanation is that "the truth is hard to accept"? Really? You're acting like a five year old.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True story.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And as much as they give the US shit, ALL of the people I've talked to when I've been abroad say they really wish they could come here.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

LOL Funny that, isn't it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think that has less to do with where you live being better, and more with it being different from what they know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They'll do it if you do too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that made no sense dude. I haven't said a damn thing about any other country or nationality, I'm only calling out a very obvious and commen trend these days.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I really do hate it when people generalize the US as being "stupid, obese, lazy idiots." I may be part of that stereotype, not being the slimmest person in the world, but I am by no means stupid. Those people that generalize ENTIRE COUNTRIES can just fall down a hole.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, very much agreed. In fact you made the point much clearer.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(this isn't actually a reply to you, the reply button to "You're stupid" isn't working for some reason) I don't think that test is fair. I'm from Europe and I've only heard of Andorra out of those four and only by random chance.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not trying to say you are stupid but I'm trying to prove"You're stupid" wrong. I'm American and I happen to have heard of and know where Andorra, Djibouti, and East Timor are. I have also heard of San Marino. In America we take a class called world geography and so most students above grade 9 know where and what those places are.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You've never heard of one of the following countries: Andorra, Djibouti, San Marino, East Timor. I've just proven you're stupid. Just admit it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Funny how fast those no ways/anon posts came in.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*yyas

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Edit button, dude.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Mobile phone, jros.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what? that wasnt me who said that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Of course it wasn't.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what? I'm logged in and using only one computer. If it doesn't say "jros83" then it's not me. UI'm serious as a heart attack.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'd like to see "anon"'s opinion on this. Odd how he disappeared like that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Do you understand how the internet works? Stop insinuating that i'm ghosting and/or sock puppeting.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Fully. Which is why I'm suspicious.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, I was one of the first anonymous people commenting on this post and it was 1AM so I went to sleep. Maybe you should think about the fact that people do that before accusing this poster of commenting on their own post. My comment numbers were #'s 580078 and 580082.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well it's a hot topic to be certain

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm starting to think you're some Euro or Aussie who's just a little butt-hurt over my statement.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am actually full American, born and raised.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You pretty much just proved the point of everyone who's against you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

As for your post, i've never really heard of the Aussies and Brits going on about our country in a hate filled way. More like a "Those Americans know nothing about grammar", maybe a health care complaint or two. It's not too dissimiler to the fact that we practically commercialize their homes, stereotyping them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ok so you're in a roundabout way admitting to me you're just giving me a hard time because you didn't like my post. Good to know since your insinuations that I'm rigging the voting were completely and utterly WRONG. Are you done now? Go back to 4chan kid.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You obviously have no idea how hate works. You can hate a post or person for multiple reasons.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

when did I even talk about "hate?!" jesus christ okay you know what you win, everything you say is gold and I'm done replying because you're 100% right. I've had enough being trolled by a teenaged brat who thinks they know so much about the world because he's glued to his computer so yes, you're exactly right and I am 100% wrong. Good night.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Aw boo hoo, troll gunma run'd away in corner to cry? You're an asshole. You're like that harpy bitch wife who "gives up" just to make a passive agressive jab. Don't you dare say you're wrong unless you mean it, asshole. And I never said you said anything about hate. I was expressing the fact that you took one of my posts and blew it up as the sole reason I'm ragging on you. You may as well have replaced that with a typo I wrote. Stop twisting my words.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And I'd be more willing to believe you if your posts didn't have that elusive scent of douchebag around them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you have issues.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"I see what you did there." Retroactively inserted a reply after the fact. You'd have made a great Politburo publisher under Stalin.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

um by saying "especially euros and aussies" is indeed making a stereotype yourself. because all australians are exactly the same and make the same assumptions? we too have stereotypes that get slandered against us. and oh that previous statement was satirical if you are anything like the idiot who wrote this initial post and didnt get what i was trying to say.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

someone's butt-hurt... lol

by Anonymous 13 years ago

seriously dude, get a clue

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm still in the green so far. And i'm standing by my point. The amount of anti-American bullshit being flung around is disproportionately high to any actual issue that deserves negative criticism (which like everyone else on earth we of course have our share of).

by Anonymous 13 years ago

so your saying that americans dont have any stereotypical views of any other country, when in essence everyone does.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm saying it's wrong across the board, yet there is no denying the amount unfairly directed at Americans is at a level higher than ever. Don't try to muddle the issue by saying basically "Americans do it too!" Yeah, some do, and they are assholes and equally as wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hence my questioning of your rant about EUROS AND AUSSIES, if its across the board it cant freakin be about aussies and 'Euros'

by Anonymous 13 years ago

because more often than not they are the majority of the ones throwing around the knee-jerk unsubstantiated anti-America rants.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

get your facts straight. first, its across the board, now its the majority. stop trying to sound smart and making comments about something you know nothing about and then perhaps the stereotype wont be you as a living example.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

whatever kid. I only call it how I see it. Today it's cool for you spaz brats to trash anything American arbitrarily, maybe I should just accept that. But don't try to tell me I'm wrong about this. I'm not the only one who has noticed this bullshit.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nobody notices how discrimination a Muslim guy like me gets in Texas...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, well in most of Texas (Austin is kinda the exception, you'd probably be SLIGHTLY more welcomed here) there are obnoxious rednecks who hate everyone.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha yeah living in Dallas, they call my friends stinky Indians

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh god, Dallas is horrible. I hate Dallas. It should die. Not really, that'd be really bad. But still...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, because lumping us all in is what you just did. This makes you no different and only makes you sound like an ignorant ass. This is the whole reason people have things against places like America. Because ignorant people LIKE YOU who 'think' they know how the whole world works and thinks open their mouths.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I get your point but you're kinda acting like an asshole to be honest.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't get me wrong I fully agree that being hateful and generalizing against America is wrong, stupid and is way overdone. But I can't help but feel compelled to not vote "Yeah you are". One of the reasons being that you're trying to go against generalizing and saying that these people are "bitter and hateful" when you are ironically generalizing in this very post and sound bitter and hateful yourself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Grow up and stopping acting like you know what everyone in Europe and Australia is thinking. This is why we think it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"This is why we think it?" So, you think it, because of one American's post? That's really nice logic you have there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes! Half the people making these posts about America being fat and stupid have never even freaking been here, and it posses me off.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"posses me off" :( way to stand up for America :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hey, sorry. I'm on my iPod and it doesn't let me edit it. Get over yourself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yea seriously if you don't like people sterotyping Americans don't sterotype others, 'euros and Australian's.' To be honest I have only ever seen American's bagging out the British on this sight and Australian's practically worship American's anyways, oh yea and I have been to America 3 times.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really? Cuz I've mainly seen Americans liking more British stuff than American on this site. And 3 times, unless they were all extended visits of a month or more is hardly inclusive of how most of America is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We all share a planet, so why don't we all try to be proud of that together? Rather than diss each others countries, because that's just pathetic. What does it matter where we come from, or what stereotypes say about our nationalities?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

fuck up dickhead, America is a shit hole of a country, so get used to other countries (and its not just euros and aussies its the whole planet) giving you shit.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Australian's kind of actually LOVE America so don't know where you pulled this idea from. I'm an aussie and I've been to America before and I see more fat people here in Australia. But aussies bag pretty much all countries without meaning it so don't rate yourselves to highly, as if America is the only country that cops all the shit. As for the whole stupid thing I have no doubt that it is a poor generalisation and it's unfortunate for the majority of people who aren't dumb but you only have yourselves to blame with the kind of reality TV shows you put on and some of the celebrities you have. Please don't start commenting back to this saying shit because I actually really like America and want to live there one day so I am most definitely not hating on your country I just think you need to take these things less seriously cause for the aussies that do say things like this they don't really care that much, it's just a joke and I'm sure there is a lot of things you could say about us.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Anyone notice that he didn't mention which country these people are talking about? Everyone just knew. That really shows it's gone too far.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, it doesn't. More than 80% of everyone on this website is american and it couldn't be a european country or Australia, so it's not like it would be hard to guess anyway.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Huh? What? It sounds like you're stereotyping to me. I've never heard anyone down talk anywhere else here, the uk, but I'm not saying that people don't. There are people everywhere that are assholes. I have however had every American I've spoken to stereotype us Brits, but do you know what, I don't give a damn! I don't care, and I don't know why you do. I do care that you're stereotyping us as people that stereotype. Personally it's something I try not to do. Which is why I don't think all Americans think all Brits are 'bitter and hate-filled asshole's.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dear American, It's posts like these that make people think you're stupid.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, this post is a joke. I'm an Aussie and the only time I ever rag on an american is when I see something as stupid as this. Aussies seem to have a sense of humour that the rest of the world doesn't get. We diss our best mates because we can, and we hardly ever mean anything bad by what we're saying. If you want to stereotype us, go ahead, but don't blame us for doing it back. And as for stereotyping, us Aussies get some pretty shitty ones too. 'we all ride kangaroos' 'live in the outback with our spears and no technology' call all the women 'sheilas'..... So don't think you're the only ones that get them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Holy shit. OP, commentatora...let's all take a chill pill. Stereotyping is bad on BOTH ends, so let's stop flinging accusations and start, I dunno, actually getting to know people? I hate being lumped into a stereotype as much as anyone else, so can we try a bit of tolerance all around?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This actually applies mostly to Americans

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha, i had to write a paper on "being an american" for school and all i could come up with were the fat/lazy/stupid stereotypes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's annoying being lumped together like this. I mean, come on people, our representatives are Katy Perry, Snooki, and Miley Cyrus. We're not all like them

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, Americans do it to every other country. Australians all ride kangaroos to school, English people drink tea and eat crumpets while talking very poshly. Germans are all Nazis. Canadians all live in igloos. So every country has their "stereotype". I've seen countless Americans say these sorts of things, including through amirite. If you're going to say these things, people from other countries are going to make fun of your stereotypes. Maybe you should think about that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Well, Americans do it to every other country." Maybe SOME of us do, like OP, but all of us don't. I've seen countless people from other countries say stereotypical things about us as well. However, I don't walk around going, "Canadians do it, too!" Or, "Australians do it too, so it's okay!"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, which is exactly why if some Americans are going to stereotype about others, then they should expect people from other countries stereotype about them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ok, I just have to say I have never heard of Australians riding in kangaroos and all Canadians living in igloos until I read stories about people believing it. Anyone with half a brain would know it isn't true. I can think of ONE person who might believe this, and she also things Tomas Edison invented electricity.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*thinks

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is great but maybe you shouldn't have added the "Especially Euros and Aussies" just sayin' :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also, in my opinion, I would much rather be stereotyped as living in igloos, riding kangaroos, or being posh than be stereotyped as being fat, lazy, and stupid.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Honestly, I believe the OP sets a new low for Americans. I, being an American, know that it can't get much lower. First time I meet someone and tell them I'm part German, they say I'm Nazi. When I tell them I'm part Vietnamese, I can be sure that if they had actually heard of the place, they would call me a commie. Also, OP stereotypes the entire world by saying the entire world stereotypes. Honestly, this is the sort of logic that gets my geometry teacher cussing, and you can tell he's the type of guy that doesn't do that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh yeah, I think that this what they call 'hypocrisy.'

by Anonymous 13 years ago
