+382 If we could get everyone in the world to burn all of their money, we could bring the entire world economy down in a day. It would never happen, but it's interesting to know that that possibility is there, amirite?

I always wonder that too, why cant we just start the hell over? ;P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ha, it's probably the same philosophy with mutually disarming nuclear weapons. You never know if someone is going to keep theirs just to screw you over. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

LOL! GOTTA CHA! *sends nuc* ....oh no...fuuuuckkk... ;D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Rich person: Hey, if we burn all of our money, we'll all be equal! Poor person: Good idea! *burns money* Rich person: Haha, sucker! *gentrification*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeahhh! stupid rich people always getting in the way!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not impressed--because you're right, that would never happen. It's like saying "if all of us committed suicide, we could bring down the entire human race in a day--but it would never happen."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I guess it's pretty lame that I found your "stupid example" pretty interesting as well . . .

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You're an idiot. You couldn't bring the economy down by people burning their money. Economys get brought down by government money and banks. Learn about economics before you state something.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Ya im in a frat): Chillax dude, it's an intresting concept. If people wern't so greedy and all decided to band together they could bring down the economy. It's just an intresting thought that money is just man made.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is true, money is pretty much fake. It has no real value, except for what we believe it is. People shouldnt have to starve just cus they dont have a piece of paper. Have you heard of the book/move Into the Wild? its basically bout this guy, he graduates from college, then donates his life savings to charity and decides to travel across the country living off the land. He eventually burns the remainder of his cash and abandons his car. Traveling by foot and hitchhiking. He believed that people should be able to survive without money or material possessions, Its a really great flick you should see it if you havnt.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That sounds like an amazing movie, I'd be untreated in watching that. People place way too much importance on money.... Like having more of it somehow makes you a more important person.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its a true story too thats the amazing part

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He dies, though. So much for being able to survive.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was going to go look that movie up! Thanks for ruining the ending >:U

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I haven't read the book, but I'm wondering if the point was that he dies. I'll look into it, though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Everyone dies.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(J.): Well yeah, but I was assuming that they meant he died prematurely.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its still a wonderful story and yes he was young but he went through a lot, he could have survived-he just made a bad mistake. It really happened in the early 90s, his name was Chris McCandless you can google him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He only dies bTER ecause of a silly mistake, he wouldnt have starved if he didnt eat the wrong berries. Plus that was AFTER he traveled around for 2-3 years

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If he is hitchhiking then someone has to have a car so if everyone did it we'd all be srewed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Due to differing perspectives, needs, proclivities, ideologies and personalities, obviously not everyone would like to hitchhike. That leaves plenty of people with cars, which is more than enough for those who *do* find it fun to hitchhike. The point is not for everyone to hitchhike, but for those who want to to do so.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am not saying that everyone should do that-you can go on such adventures with money you know. You are taking it too literally.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*intresting -damn mobile device-

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You still spelled it intresting. XD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(J.): Uhh I fail >.<

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ya. Christopher McCandless is actually my second cousin. What happens at the end. He died!and it's not an interesting concept because it won't happen. It is literally impossible. People don't run the economy. The government does. This idea is just some idiotic liberal idea. Ya. Money is man made, thank goodness we're not on the barter system. Think of a different system or stop complaining about it you liberals. I'm not saying money is a huge deal, bc that's all my parents care about. But whether you like it or not, it's important.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(ya im in a frat): It is not impossible, only improbable. Besides, are you saying that impossible concepts aren't interesting?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(ya im in a frat): If you go to burning man festival, all you do is barter. No money at all, you can trade a piece of art for food or what have you. It is people building a complete community in the desert. I know the boy died, BUT i seriously doubt anybody could have made it as far as him unless they had serious determination. The basica fact of the matter is, you dont need money to be happy. He traveled all over the place for a couple years meeting all kinds of people. He didnt get into the real trouble until he was out in the alaskan bush, as far away from civilization as he could be-and he was still out there for a few good months before dying.
