That's not how it works...
Game shows get their money from advertisements (you know commercials.) The more people who watch the show, the more money they get. There would be no money to give if it wasn't a show.
or they should let the winner pick an organization of their choice to donate to..
thats what they do for celebrity 'who wants to be a millionaire', i'd assume its the same for other game shows. regular folks want their winnings though!
