You won't learn it without practice. You'll understand when you go to college.

Yeah, that'll get you through high school. College is a very different story and you'll lag behind if you need to spend a semester or three figuring out how to make time for homework that requires real effort or studying for an exam that covers two months of material in a class that moves literally x5 faster than anything you saw in high school (and this is normal).
