He didn't in the earlier episodes. When the writers and everyone else working on the show found out that everybody thought he was gay, they kind of decided to mess with people. Since then, they've been exaggerating that kind of stuff. Hilarious, if you ask me. : )

The head writers of Spongebob are a gay couple. They intentionally made Spongebob and Patrick have homosexual characteristics. Anyway Spongebob was originally meant to be a cartoon for adult swim then they watered it down because marketers thought it would be more successful as a children's show.

Actually, it was meant to be featured on Saturday night Live as a skit, but it never aired which is why it became a child's show. I love spongebob though and anyone who doesn't has to deal with me! lol

I think that no kid should watch it!! If u think about it Bikkini Bottoms, Kristy krab, mr krabs!! I don't like the way spongebob talks! But that's my opinion! I think he might be a lil gay!!
