I'm not squeamish but I'd imagine that they only get freaked out when the blood is from some kind of wound/injury.

I have a friend who has a blood phobia. When I asked her about it she said "I close my eyes, hold my breath, and just avoid looking at it until it's flushed and I'm washing my hands." I feel pretty bad for her, since it's so bad if she even thinks something looks like blood she gets dry heaves.
