I really want to know why people NW'd. Just because your religion was insulted doesn't mean you have to get all butthurt about it. This post is insanely accurate, especially the "generates huge profits for its operators" part.

Are we talking the religion as a whole? Because my church can barely gather enough money to fund it's maintenance bills let alone anything else.

I was mainly talking about products/companies that are being made by people who are extremely into their religion. I'll use Michelle Bachmann as an example, she has a company to "cure" gayness. I've also seen people on the streets of cities telling people to pay them $10 for a pamphlet, and if they don't they go to hell. (I don't know if this really makes sense as I need sleep) I know that lots of churches are like yours. The church I used to attend was like that too. Sorry, should have clarified.

No, don't worry about it. I figured that's what you meant. In those cases, I agree completely. With this being my first year in college, I've noticed that second example A LOT.

Prey's on people's weaknesses? And most churches are not making huge profits (except maybe the Mormons.) Oh, and it's not illegal.
