Actually, he was called Donkey Kong because the initial point was to make a King Kong game, but they wouldn't hand over the rights to the name. They really wanted to do the game, and they saw him as a stubborn thing, so they found a synonym for stubborn; out came donkey.

Incorrect sir. Shigeru Miyamoto is japanese therefore does not know all english terms, he created the game thinking DK would be a stupid fellow, and he thought Donkey meant stupid in America. When he realized it mean jackass it was too late to change the name so it stuck. The kong is from his gorrila/apeness and the fact he is similar to king kong by bringing a female to the top of a structure.

What you're saying is, you thought it was appropriate to send me a notif to my my 2-year-old comment because you thought it was slightly wrong... and that it would be appropriate to call me sir.

Well it wasn't. It didn't do anything useful. It was just dumb. Kid, I smashed Ganon's tail with a megaton hammer by the time you were born.
