+326 It's odd how Conservatives can handle Bush jokes and make them, but Dems flip a shit if anyone makes an Obama joke, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

those jokes about bush....they aren't jokes, they are facts.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

they mostly are facts, but some people can't prove them right

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Flip a shit"? That's a nifty little phrase you've got there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

have you seen a shit flip? it actually is quite the nifty phenomena

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm liberal and I agree: however, I've NEVER heard any Libertarian jokes out there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How many Libertarians does it take to change alight bulb? As many as they need as long as it doesn't require the Govt. to intervene. why are libertarians good at guarding? cause they are always on the fence

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hm. You're right. It's a lesser-known party. I've never seen "LIBERTARIAN VS. DEMOCRAT [or REPUBLICAN]- WHO WILL WIN?!" as a headline.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think it might be because Bush screwed up...bad, while Obama has barely gotten started. So all the Obama jokes have no truth behind it, but the Bush ones do.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Obmama hasnt messed up? really?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well everything that Obama is doing has long term effects, therefore no. Obama has not technically messed up yet, because we don't have any immediate results. Unless you're talking about his inaugural speech, cause he did mess that up :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Generic generalization.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

U mad

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, no, I'm politically neutral. I take no sides, because I think all politicians, despite their political status, have hidden agendas. I was just saying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what jokes? i've never heard an obama joke, just a blind accusation like "he's the reason we're in a recession! BLAHFASIOFHU!" which obviously isn't true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Q. Why won't Obama release his real birth certificate? A. He accidentally smoked it. Q. Why won’t Obama laugh at himself? A. Because it would be racist. Q: Have you heard about McDonald's' new Obama Value Meal? A: Order anything you like and the guy behind you has to pay for it. Q: What's the difference between Obama and his dog, Bo? A: Bo has papers.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Obama has released his birth certificate (not that he should have needed to.) I do like the second one, though.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, this isn't true at all. Bush supporters got angry about the jokes while he was in office; if that's changed, I've yet to see it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I didn't really *support* Bush, but I didn't hate him, and I thought some of the jokes were funny. Some stupid and/or overdone, but funny.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The first one is funny, but I don't see how the second joke relates to Libertarians at all. Our platform is quite clear; very little indecision.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm just taking a stab here, but Libertarians are Republicans in the sense of government intervention, but Democrats in the sense of morals [abortion, gay marriage, etc.] so it's kind of on the fence.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hahaha the comments are just proving the post. Notice they are all bashing Bush yet no one has brought up Obama's faults. Bush was in office for 8 years. Obama will most likely NOT get reelected

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Firstly, nobody has bashed Bush in these comments. Secondly, length of term ≠ success of Administration.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Bush screwed up...bad" "The Obama jokes have no truth behind it, but the Bush ones do." "those jokes about bush....they aren't jokes, they are facts." sounds like bashing to me...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They are truthful comments. I would hardly deem them "bashing." Anyways, why do you suppose nobody has taken a stab at Obama's faults?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

plenty of people have, just not on here. There's even a website of it called obama fail blog

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because everybody on Amirite is young, and liberal. Statistics show that the older one gets, the more likely they are to vote Republican. (Live in the real world, pay real taxes, experience real issues, vote conservative.)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Obama will most likely NOT get reelected." Really? Because I pay very close attention to these things, and even if you are dim witted enough to think that a prediction made two years in advance will hold up, most analysts say that he has a fair chance. There have been only three presidents in the last 100 years who lost their midterm elections as bad as Obama. All three of them were reelected. He has an even better shot if someone like Palin ends up being the republican nominee.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But what if Obama is a joke?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is how I see it... Liberals believe Government can work. Republicans believe goverment can't work, then get elected and prove it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really? Tell me 3 liberal government run things that are run well. (Don't say military)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not really- just because the party incorporates some ideas from others doesn't mean it's in any way undecided. The party platform isn't very long, so if you're truly interested you can read it here: http://www.lp.org/platform Basically, Libertarians believe our federal government exists solely to protect the liberties of it's citizens. They think all government interference in other areas should cease, and the people should be in charge of their own lives. This extends to everything- schools, law enforcement, basically anything we need we would handle ourselves. We don't believe in income taxes, property taxes, or any others- Libertarians believe that we should keep every cent we earn. In exchange for the fact that the federal government would have no power over our lives, they would also offer no assisstance- no welfare, no food stamps, no medicaid, no Pell grants... with true freedom comes true responsibility. The things that fall under true freedom include any repealing ...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

... any laws against victimless crimes that are currently on the books, such as drug use and prostitution. Basically, Libertarians believe we should be able to live as we choose as long as we're not infringing upon the liberties of others, succeed or fail on our own merits, and that communites should work together to provide needful services for their citizens. It's a lovely dream to me, because my realistic side knows I'll never see it in my lifetime.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sounds very Thoreau a la Civil Disobedience style

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Socially, it really is. But Economically, I am a full libertarian, because the government has proven itself time and time again to be inefficient with money. But yeah, they are basically social anarchists, IMO. Though I agree with the LP on a lot of stuff.

^^ BreakfastFan speaks truth.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wouldn't be the slightest bit suprised to find there was some inspiration found there xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what do you mean, "conservatives can handle bush jokes"? doesn't this post kind of prove you wrong?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i haven't really heard any good obama jokes, because he hasn't done anything stupid or bad(unlike bush). got any good examples?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahahahahah. Obama hasn't done anything stupid......

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wanna hear a joke? Obama.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm conservative (pretty dang conservative, actually) and I can take a joke about anybody. Bush, Palin, Steele, Boehner, Beck, O'Reilly, etc. I think its stupid when people can't take a joke. Who cares if they agree with you politically? Laugh at the joke and have a good time. Bush was a drunk (and laughs at himself about it in his autobiography) and Obama was a drug head. LAUGH. *steps off of soap box*
