Um, yeah, it help tons. It would NOT be okay at all if there was no security & just a completely casual thing for people to bring knives & whatnot up there. Can you imagine how much potential tension that would cause? Or if people brought lighters? There's an accident you DON'T want happening. And sure, if they're going to hijack the plane, then they're gonna hijack the plan, but that doesn't mean we should make it easy for them & let every plan follow through... No one would trust our air system anymore, it would become unusable. It makes sense that we'd learn from past attacks & change our security. Yeah, they WOULD be dumb enough to try it again if we were dumb enough to let it happen again. Come on guys, use your heads.

I guess if they wanted to they could grab someone around the neck and threaten to chock them if the pilot didn't do what they wanted.
