Stereotypes are funny to use in jokes and etc. because anything funny generally has an ounce of truth. Frankly, all (well, many) stereotypes have some kind of basis or reasoning... but, I haven't met everyone in the world, and I know of people that go against certain stereotypes. So, ultimately, you have the judge the person first, skin colour, background, etc., second.

Uh, I listen to rap but that's as far as I go on the list of black requirements. Stereotypes are pretty funny (in jest) if you're not stupid enough to think they're acutually true. Unfortunately, I've come across some pretty ignorant folk who believe everything they see on tv and music videos.
