+183 If scientists discovered a supposedly human inhabitable planet in another solar system and also found a way to travel there in a day, you would be scared to be the first one to test it, amirite?

The question is: would you go to this planet if it meant fame but death? :O

Why would you care about fame if you were dead?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, you didn't understand. Would you rather be famous and alive (do what post says) or be alive and normal?

Is it weird that a few weeks back, I watched a documentary and they have found a planet that /might/ be suitable for humans to live on in another solar system? The only problem is that it'll take hundreds of years to get there.

That planet is called Glise 581d. It's in what scientists say is the Goldilocks planet. That planet is in the right spot for life to be there. Yea it takes a while to get there. The fastest thing man has ever made was Voyger 1, and it goes 11 mps and it would still take a couple hundred of years to get there.

Then perhaps we could have a Wall-E type scenario where we live on the transportation, and our great great great (x50) grandchildren will get there.

And by the time they get there, humans on Earth will have discovered a much faster mode of transportation and already inhabited it.

I like that idea. What about freezing the body until they get there? They will still be in their prime once they get there, and no what they are they for. You know what I mean?

Yeah. 1/3 of the population is on earth, 1/3 is frozen on transportation, 1/3 is awake and their great grandchildren will be there.
