+867 It's funny how some people consider that even at the expense of it's mother, an unborn shapeless mass of cells is a human that should have every right as a normal human, but a fully-functioning, full grown, alive gay person is not. amirite?

This post wins on so many levels

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah except that even though some people might not like the idea of gay marriage, they don't go around killing them-now do they?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

republicans

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm pro-choice but I've never heard anyone say that a foetus should have the right to marry...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i don't think she's talking about marriage; people who are homophobic but pro-life are being a bit hypocritical in that they freak out if someone wants to terminate a thing that isn't even human yet and tell people who support it that they're going to hell/ are murderers/ etc. yet a lot of those same people who claim to be all for rights think homosexuals are disgusting spawn of satan or something and shouldn't even be considered human beings, let alone have the same rights. it doesn't make sense.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've actually never heard anyone who's pro-life say that about gays. Maaajor exaggeration.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've never heard someone who's pro-choice say "LET'S GET TOGETHER AND KILL ALL THE BABIES!!" and laugh evilly and then go and worship Satan.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well making a crazy generalized assumption doesn't help you make a point my dear.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"is a human that should have every right as a normal human" I think marrying falls into the category of "every right" so my point still stands.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@726903 (Rene_Magritte): Well of course I wasn't referring to marriage entirely but kind of how it's weird that those kinds of people tend to treat/respect an unborn clump of cells more than an intelligent, fully functional gay man or woman. And I don't know the exact word for it but it's also kind of a reference to the recent gay bullying suicides and homophobic murder, where those kinds of people believe the gays can be killed no problem but an unborn child (even if it ruins the mother's life) should always be spared.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"it's weird that those kinds of people tend to treat/respect an unborn clump of cells more than an intelligent, fully functional gay man or woman." Well, I agree with that, but that doesn't change my position on the post itself. I hope you don't mind.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well it is just the internet, so i guess it's the intent that counts. tl;dr you're good xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually if the child inside the mothers womb will kill her in labor, then that is the only exception for abortion. There is no other exception but that one.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

rape?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Adoption?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Honestly, adoption isn't the shits and giggles it's put out to be. While it's difficult to have an abortion emotionally, it's even more difficult to give up your baby once you've kept it in you for 9 months and held it in your arms for the first time, just to realize that you can't ever see it again. Even if it's an illegitimate child, or if it will ruin her financial situation or otherwise, a bond really does form. Not to mention usually if it's not a bouncy, healthy white baby (which teenage pregnancy babies usually are not healthy) it doesn't get a home very quickly.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would rather go through the trauma of giving of my baby up than giving someone permission to murder a child. My child. It's plain murder.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it's not a child. this is politically incorrect to say, which is the problem about pro-choice, but in the first trimester (which i'm pretty sure is the law right now -- abortions are only allowed within the first trimester) it's just a mass of cells. and not to mention the child would probably be fucked up anyway if it's a teen mom. people 16- are really not supposed to be having kids yet.

Being smart and clever while making a valid point: You're doing it wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

internet meme: you're doing it wrong

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This makes too much sense

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What if I beleive in both?!?!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

so true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I smell what you are stepping in, but people don't go around killing gay people because they are an inconvenience to their reckless lifestyle.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

this is just so true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Um the worse I've heard about gays is that it's a disgrace and should be illegal. (I don't agree with that) I've never heard someone say that they aren't people and should be killed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol i have.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Love this post.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Homophobia is pretty much on par with racism. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its sad that people make fun of others for being different. I mean seriously, if those people knew how much they can damage a person with words. Millions of people commit suicide because other people don't know how to accept them.

Are you stupid?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

herp derp first trimester

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm 99% sure that photo is not accurate. If you took physical science in high school you would know that the human fetus is closer to the semblance of a rat than a human.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Perhaps shapeless is not a very good word. Tad-pole shaped would fit much better.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This post was obviously written by a democrat....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yep. ;D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You could tell because it was logical and made sense.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am not a Democrat but I approve of the OP.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The "mass of cells" and the "alive gay person" have the exact same rights. The gay person has the right to live, just as the fetus does, and the fetus may or may not be allowed to marry someone of the same sex when it matures. Both of them should be able to have life, and if neither, or both, are allowed to have gay mairrage, then so be it. Neither of them has less rights than the other. The mother can deal with the "expense". If she willingly had sex, then she should understand that there is ALWAYS a risk of pregnancy, and abortion in that situation is often a sign of weakness in both parents. If the pregnancy is in no way her fault, nine months are hugely inconvenient, but they will not kill her. If she cannot raise a child, there are thousands of families that would give anything to be able to give that baby a good home. Of course, pregnancy can sometimes kill the mother; in that case, abortion would be choosing which live to save rather than killing the baby out of convenience.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

every point you made can be explained in the comments above, except that what I meant by this post is that it seems most people who lean right on the political spectrum will respect a fetus more than a gay human.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just because I support small governments does not mean I support small minds. Not everyone on the right is an anti-gay anti-woman bigot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sign of weakness? Abortion does not make you weak. a "huge inconvenience" is a huge understatement. Pregnancy, childbirth, and premature motherhood can be painful, traumatizing, and harmful.
