+73 there should be jobs reserved for people who just got out of jail, because once people see in your resume that you were in jail, they don't hire you. it is nearly impossible to get a good job. amirite?

Um... yeah... not to be insensitive or anything, but if you made a mistake that landed you in jail than you have to pay the consequences, both while you are incarcerated and when you get out. I have a friend who is a wonderful man, but made a bad choice as a young adult. Even he will admit that it is only fair that he work crappy jobs until he build up the credibility and reliability he lost when he broke the law.

Yeah, I agree. If you do something against the law and spend time in jail for it, it's your own fault. Plus the fact that there's PLENTY of unemployed people who haven't been in jail. Do you think it would be fair for the people just out of jail to automatically get jobs while there are qualified people who have never been in jail that are still unemployed? A lot of people would be committing crimes and getting in jail JUST to get a job in the long run. Not good.

That's a pretty bad idea. Not everybody who gets out of jail are back on track. Some are still bad and didn't learn their lesson. It's also completely unfair for people who have not a spot on their record but don't get picked over someone who was in jail.

I know someone who made a bad decision as a kid. He got in jail. After a while, he got out of jail. He is a good person, but he had to learn the lesson. I know that sounds insensitive, but you have to learn to pay the consequences for your actions, not just while you're in jail. That's part of the whole deal.
